Title of the Lesson: Roles of Journalism and it’s New Paradigm Features

I. Synthesis
The Lesson revolves in the Roles of Journalism and the characteristics of its new
paradigm., Journalism practices being the main source of information; keeps an eye
out for the public to monitor how the government performs its duties as public
authorities and what it is up to. A journalist's function is merely to tell the people of
what the elites are up to. Journalist is referred to as being "important" since they
are the most influential persons in the country, whether they are preparing news for
broadcasting or writing for newspapers, magazines or any platform for them to
inform. It also claimed that as the audience is frequently varied and complicated,
not everything we see, hear, or read is accurate or true, making fact checking
crucial.

II. Learning Impacts (Explicate the learning impacts of the material in each area or
aspect below.)
A. Personal
- In my own point of view, Journalism is essential since we need to be
aware in what is the current state of our society, our country, any updates
from our government. Basically Journalism helps us to digest information
if we needed to state a decision we’re ready and very sure about it since
we’re knowledgeable enough.

B. Academic/Educational
- Journalism and Educational aspects these two are not different from each
other, the only difference that I can see are there platform since these
two uses different platform to convey information. In Journalism tackles
more on social environment or any social context. While in Academic it
tackles quiet every information that a students needed.
C. Cultural
Because cultural factors have a considerable potential for explanation, the
relationship between culture and journalism aims to explain why
journalism is practiced differently across the world. Additionally, there is a
mutually beneficial interaction between journalism, culture, and society
since media promotes a rapid exchange of ideas that affect both of these
areas.
D. Social

- Since the development of the media, people have started to become more
aware of their state and the rest of the world. Since it is now possible to
learn about events occurring both locally and overseas, I think the media
have done their duty. Additionally, news outlets, television, and social
media have enabled people everywhere to understand what is positive or
harmful for societal growth.

III. Feedback and Reflection

In my view, journalism serves a variety of functions, but freedom of speech is
the most crucial one . People today rely on the media to keep them informed about
recent issues, proving that the media plays a crucial role in a free system. It serves
as a conduit between the public and the executive branch, and its primary goal is to
guarantee that each person is informed of their rights.

IV. Shape up via Learning Module (if available and instructed)

A. How does journalism function in society?

- Campus journalism's function in modern society is to act as a "operative" to

help communities and people to comprehend information in the midst of duplicity
and fake or misleading news.

B. How do the new paradigm features of journalism work in our

community nowadays?

- The media and our community are now interchangeable, which is important
because, as stated in the new paradigm characteristics, a journalist must
prioritize the narrative. This entails that the narrator will show themselves as a
journalists or a source, with the attention of the audience focused on them.

C. In what specific situations does journalism interfere?

- Our freedom of speech are being oppress; red tagging of different names in
the field Journalism as well as different individuals that practice their freedom to
tell their stories that may vary truth and justice are being silenced. By these facts
it hinders us to our goal to deliver an accurate and reliable source of information
that people needed, and now they are being a victims of misinformation.
