Processing Feedback
After the discussion, answer the following questions. Write your answers on the spaces below each

item.

1. What is solid waste management?

_It is a term that used to refer to the process of collecting and treating solid waste. There

have been several ordinances from different barangays, municipalities, cities, and provinces

that aim to address this matter. Efforts of the Local Government Units (LGUs) in the

Philippines are overwhelming but it must be a joint effort of the LGUs and its community that

can actually make it work.

2. What is climate change?

Is a long-term shift in global or regional climate patterns. Often climate change refers
specifically to the rise in global temperatures from the mid-20th century to present.
3. What are the legal bases in the Philippines concerning environmental protection?

_ The Philippine government is the sole policy-making body of the government

tasked to coordinate, monitor, and evaluate action plans of the government related to

climate change. The Commission is also tasked to formulate the National Framework

Strategy on Climate Change and the National Climate Change Action Plan. The

National Framework Strategy on Climate Change is a technical document which is the

basis to protect vulnerable communities from the adverse effects of climate change.

4. What are the types of small-scale composting?

Here are the different types of vessels for composting at this stage: composting in pits, composting in
piles, in-vessel composting and vermi-composting. You must prepare your compost bin.

You line the compost bin. You must place an inch of sawdust or shredded newspaper to begin
your compost layers. You have to introduce compost worms if you are using them.
Begin layering compost ingredients. You need to monitor what you add to the compost. You
need to use your compost after it has processed. Is this the things that you will need.

5. Illustrate and discuss the paradigm shift of solid waste management.

Are the diagrams that show the transit of paradigm from conventional

perspective to alternative or new perspective. Conventional perspective shows the solid

management starts from raw materials and ends with the dumpsite. On the other hand,

alternative or new perspective explains that raw materials may be recycled or re-used.
