AN ORDER TO ORGANIZE THE CITY BANTAY ASIN TASK (CBATF) OF THE CITY OF MALAYBALAY.

WHEREAS, pursuant to Republic Act 8172 of 1995 otherwise known as “An Act Promoting Salt Iodization
Nationwide and for related purposes” or commonly called “ASIN LAW” seek to eliminate micronutrient deficiencies in
the City, particularly Iodine Deficiency Disorder (IDD) through the cost-effective preventive measure of salt iodization;

WHEREAS, lack of iodine causes physical and mental abnormalities such as hypothyroidism/hyperthyroidism,
mental retardation, productive failures, and retracted physical development;

WHEREAS, universal salt iodization continues to be recognized as the cheapest, safest, efficient and long term
intervention that would address IDD. Thus, various actions have been pursued to implement Republic Act 8172 that
mandates the iodization of all salt for human and animal consumption;

WHEREAS, the City Bantay Asin Task Force (CBATF) is a mechanism for planning, implementing, monitoring,
evaluation and coordinating the Barangay Bantay Asin Task Force (CBATF) action plan;

WHEREAS, there is a need to strengthen the coordinative activities and programs of the various agencies;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT HEREBY RESOLVED, to approve this resolution

allocating adopting the BNAP as guidelines in the nutrition program of activities of Barangay 8, Malaybalay City;

RESOLVED further, that copies of this resolution be furnish to all concerned departments and offices for the
information and appropriate action.
