PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Tandy 4301 is a cyclopentane preblended polyol. It is used in production of discontinuous

panel. This formulation gives fine closed cell rigid polyurethane foam. Formulation is
designed such that the blowing agent will remain dissolved for longer storage stability.

PROCESSING

Tandy 4301 can be processed both on high and low pressure machines and can be processed
manually.

STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE

The materials are sensitive to humidity. Unused and partially used drums should be tightly sealed
and stored in shade area. The shelf life of Polyol is six months from the date of manufacture.

Flammability
 This formulation contains certain percentage of flammable ingredients. As these are dissolved in
polyol they do not pose any major fire risk. However on prolong storage these gases may get
separated and may saturate over the top space in storage container. Hence it is essential to mix the
content before opening the container. If supplied in drums the drums are to be adequately rolled
before opening it. It is advised to allow a gap of about two hour after rolling the drums and
opening of the drum.
 Standard practices of handling petroleum products to be adopted.
 The working area should have flame proof fittings and should be well ventilated.
 The drums should be stored under a covered segregated area.
 The storage of finished polyurethane products should be separated from working area. The drums
should not be kept open when not in use.
 Adequate numbers of fire extinguishers should be provided at the working areas as well as
storage areas preferably flame proof doors should be installed segregating production area, raw
material store, finished product store and office.

Other important guidelines

 Handling- Tandy 4301 is high hygroscopic in nature, it is advised to keep the drums in tightly
sealed conditions and protect against moisture. Recommended storage temperature is below 25°C
Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Safety goggles and hand gloves should be used while using the
chemicals.
 Ventilation- The area should be well ventilated.
 Waste Disposal- The final foam and waste is inert. Disposal should be done as per the guidelines
given by local authority.
