Motivation
I have here a video about the moon ( The pupils will watch the video)
you watch attentively because after I
will ask some questions.

B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation
Okay class, based on the video that Ma’am the moon has different
shapes
you have seen, what have you noticed
about the moon in terms of its appearance?
Very good!

Just like the earth, the moon does not have its own
light. It reflects light from the sun. The phases of the
moon you see depend on its position in relation
To the sun and earth.

And in fact the, the shape of the moon does not

change, only its lighted part. Then we see less
of its lighten part. That is why its shape appears
to change, this is what we call
“ Phases of the Moon”

We have here on the board the different phases

of the moon shown in the video. For our activity
you will choose a picture and match it with its
corresponding description by picking it to the
tree of knowledge.
Okay let us begin…
( The teacher will call the pupils who will do the
activity)

New moon is when

the moon is all dark
and located between
the earth and sun

Crescent moon is
when the moon is in
between the new
moon and quarter
moon
stage.

Quarter moon is in
between the gibbous
and crescent moon.

Gibbous moon is when

more than half of the
moon can be seen
Full moon is when
the earth is between
the moon and sun,
we can see the
whole bright moon.

( The student will show their out

put in front of the class)
Generalization

Now let us go back, what do you call

o the changes of the moonlight’s shape
as the moon revolves around the Earth? It is called the Phases of the Moon

Very good answer!

What are the five main phases of the moon The five main phases of the moon are:
new moon, crescent moon, quarter moon
gibbous moon, and full moon.

We only see the part of the moon that reflects

light to us. That is how we see generosity in a
person. Some people like the sun are generous
because they have the resources to give.
But more generous people are those, like the
moon, who do not have their own blessings to
give, but are willing to share with others. The
blessings they receive.
