Giving Evidence
1. Use keywords- use certain words or phrases to let the audience know that
you are going to provide the evidence next. These keywords may be
words or phrases such as therefore, to illustrate, specifically, to
demonstrate, and others.

2. Use quotes. For facts, quote the work of someone who has done research
on the matter. The evidence should be from a reputable source. For
supporting opinions, it is advisable for you to quote facts that you based
your opinions on.

3. Be specific. Having vague evidence or statements that are too general will
make the facts and opinions you state less believable.

4. State adequate evidence. A lack of evidential support will not be

appealing to your audience. Make sure that all your statements are
relevant to the main idea. The evidence you give should directly
support your main idea.
