STUDY SKILLS – CREATE A GAME

Instructions: In groups of 4-5, you will choose one school subject from the Subject list, and at least three study
skills from the Study Skills list. Your group will create a game that will help students study for that subject.
(Think of low-tech games like Pictionary, charades, memory games, board games, etc.) You can use the
materials available in the classroom. Write up a short description of your game, and a list of rules, so other
people can learn how to play it.

Once you’ve created your game, your group will pair up with another group, and you’ll teach them how to
play your study game. Have them try it out! Did it work well? If necessary, make some changes to your game,
to make it more effective.

After every group has taught another group their game, and learned someone else’s game, you’re going to
present your game to the class. Explain:

 how it works
 what the rules are
 what materials you’ll need
 which study skills it will help you learn
 how it will help you learn them
