TRIGONOMETRY

ANGLES AND THEIR MEASURE

• An angle is formed by rotating (in a plane) a ray m, called
the initial side of the angle, around its endpoint until it
coincides with a ray n, called the terminal side of the angle.
• Complementary angles are two positive angles whose sum is 90ᵒ
• Supplementary angles are two positive angles whose sum is 180ᵒ
ANGLE RELATIONSHIPS

• Vertical angles are angles

of equal measure that are
opposite one another and
share the same vertex.
• A transversal is a line that
intersects two other
coplanar lines. If a
transversal intersects two
parallel lines, the
corresponding angles
have equal measure.

PYTHAGOREAN THEOREM
• In any right triangle, the square of the length of the longest side
(hypotenuse) is equal to the sum of the squares of the lengths of the
other two sides (legs).
