GENDER DIFFERENCES

 GENDER
o Socially constructed
 They do differ between in a group and it changes overtime.
TWO DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE
1. Socialization
 Treat boys/men and girls/women differently.
 Developed a gender identity. How they see themselves as a human with respect to their gender.

2. Doing gender
 Gender is being a property of interaction itself. Something that perform in interaction.
 3 Main components to this framework when we think about gender.
o Sex- About being male and female.
o Sex category- How we are designated by others as male and female or how we
designate our self to others as male or female.
o Gender- The repertoire of behavior. Gender is the property of interaction.
 Gender accountability- We are accountable of our behavior.
 Gender approach- The persistence of gender differences.
