PART 1: Read the text below then do the activities carefully. (14pts)
Once upon a time, there was a little village girl, the most beautiful girl you have ever seen. Her
mother loved her dearly, as did her grandmother. She had made her a little red hood which suited her so
well that everyone called her Little Red Riding Hood.
One day her mother said to her: “your grandmother is not very well. Go and see how she is. You can
take her some cookies and this home-made jar of honey.”
Little Red Riding Hood left right away to visit her grandmother who lived far away in another village.
As she was walking through the forest, she met a wolf. He would have liked to eat her up, but he didn’t
dare to because there were some woodcutters nearby in the forest. He pretended to be very kind and asked
her where she was going.
The poor little girl did not know that it was dangerous to talk to a wolf and she said to him: “I am
going to see my grandmother to take her some cookies and a jar of honey which my mother made for her.”
Just as he was about to eat up the little girl, a woodcutter who had been in the forest came suddenly
from a small house and with one movement of his axe he cut off the wolf’s head and nobody was ever
troubled by that wicked creature again.
