5. Hope and pray that we will have a much more productive 3rd Grading period.
You’ve improved, now let’s continue! God bless everyone!
6. To have an idea of what our first topic would be, log in to Genyo and click H1 and do the activity:
Hangmoon. Enjoy!
After the game, write in the chat box how well did you play!
7. We will continue with what we have started on Thursday. See you! Please work on your assigned
asynchronous activity.
Day 2
SYNOPSIS
All matter is particulate in nature. This basically means that between separate bits of matter there are
spaces which contain no matter. In science it is called the "atomic nature of matter." It is generally agreed that
the Greek philosopher Leucippus and his student Democritus were the first to propose this idea, about 440
B.C. This "atomic theory" (to use a modern phrase) was opposed by Aristotle 100 years later, who taught that
all space is filled with matter, that there are no empty spaces. Aristotle's ideas were accepted as correct by
almost all educated people, until the early 1800's, when atomic ideas began to be more generally accepted as
correct.

At the end of this unit, you will be able to describe the physical and chemical properties of an element
from the Periodic Table, in detail.
Matter is defined as that which has mass and occupies space. This definition seems simple enough, yet there
are profound issues which surround it. For example, there is currently no generally accepted scientific theory
for why mass exists. It can be defined: mass characterizes an object's resistance to a change in its motion.
There are a lot more to discover about matter which generally are so important because it is all around us.
2. Let’s check and practice honesty, the assigned asynchronous activity last Tuesday, Nov.23. We’ll
discuss the answers as we do our discussions.
3. Log in to Genyo, and click H2 of the assigned LP last Tuesday, Nov. 23. Watch the video about the
Particle nature of Matter.
Be observant! Write down 3-5 concepts that you have learned in the lesson assigned.
8. Oh, that’s wonderful! Who would like to share their notes?
9. Let’s discuss what has been shown and explained in the video that you’ve watched.
You will use your written/encoded concepts as the topic/title is flashed on screen.
Then, each one of you will take turns in giving an explanation or description. We’ll use the “Call a
classmate” strategy.
