JOB SUMMARY
The tracker is responsible for the insights of the wildlife, should be knowledgeable about the
ecosystem living and non-living things found in the nature.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include but be unlimited to the following
areas and activities.
 Check trek schedule daily and check with the head guide to obtain information on
schedules, arrivals and departures.
 Park vehicles safely (behind you, assist with setting up the table).
 Know the principles of guest’s interactions- bear in mind the guest’s interests and what
they have already seen. Watch the weather and do not drive into rains. Share
information on sightings with other trekkers. Always attend to the guests first before
helping yourself.
 Read the signs of the bush in identifying spoor, dung etc. for various wildlife.
 Find tracks for specific animals and follow them until the animal is located when
requested by guests.
 Connect with guests on a personal level while at the same time connecting them with
nature.
 Read and understand animal behavior and use the knowledge for the safety of your
guests
 Maintain logbooks according to company standards
 To produce a consistent, high quality product, providing a courteous, professional,
efficient and flexible service consistent with the hotel’s policies and procedures in
order to maximize guest satisfaction.
 To have a full working knowledge and capacity to perform all duties and tasks in the
assigned place of work to the standard of performance set. Note that standards are
reviewed and changed on a regular basis reflecting change in trends, guests’
expectations and operating philosophies.
 To demonstrate flexibility and adaptability towards changing working hours and shifts
according to the requirements of the hotel operation.
 To respond to changes in your job function as dictated by the industry, company or
the hotel.
 To maintain good working relationships with own colleagues and all other
departments.

Candidate profile:
 Must have a valid LPH
 Drivers’ License is essential.
 Valid First Aid Certificate.
 At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position is a five-star property.
 Fluency in English and other languages is an added advantage.
