--Case 1
SUNSPOT RESORTS
Main point of view:
Resort development has negative impact/effect on environment.

Problems, issues, and concerns (Statement of Problems):

1. The groups are protesting because they feel that development will
disrupt the fragile relationships of life on the reef that is immediately
offshore.
2. Several areas of the island have been destroyed as a result of previous
developers' failed promises.
3. Locals are no longer believing the words of the company.
4. The company hire a lawyer to attempt to depict the environmentalists as
unreasonable obstructionists.
5. Sunspot Resort has dealt with similar challenges before, the current
problems appear more complicated.

Solutions and Recommendations:

1. Publish, consider making a public statement explaining why building
resort and affirming your group’s values.
2. Reach out. You should know why they are protesting or why are they
against you to better understand the reason for their discomfort.
3. Don’t make false promises, they already suffered enough from the
previous developer’s incompetent. That’s why they are mistrusting now.
4. Do not retaliate against them with threats or violence.
5. Meet with their LGU and the locals. Give them assurance that you will
protect the environment with them. Give them the same importance just
like you give to your company.
