Task 6: Class debate about immigration

➢ Each group chooses one spokesperson per statement (they will initiate
debate).
➢ Look up the definition of key words (understand all statements).
➢ 5-10 minutes to come up with an answer.
➢ Let each group present their answers, followed by a debate between both
groups.

Immigrants will take European jobs, especially those with the lower salaries, which
will hurt the poor.
Immigrants abuse the European welfare state.
Immigrants should learn the language of their new country within a year or go back to
their original countries.
