Comprehensive Essay About Why I Like and Dislike Teaching

Choosing to pursue my teaching expertise has benefits and drawbacks. There

are both positive and negative reasons why I like and don't like teaching. The first
reason I like teaching so much is my desire to inspire and motivate others to become
the people they truly want to be. The second reason I enjoy teaching is that it is a
well-paying career with flexible hours. Most teachers also receive paid holidays in
addition to breaks and days for professional development. The third reason I enjoy
teaching is that it motivates me to guide students toward a good education journey.
The fourth reason I enjoy teaching is that it is one of the most rewarding aspects of
my profession since we can receive small intangible rewards and tokens from the
students. Lastly, the reason why I like teaching is because I want to be an excellent
role model to everyone, especially to the students.
Teaching needs patience, dedication, enthusiasm, and the ability to do more
with less. Being a teacher necessitates the ability to handle stress and multitask, but
I am sometimes too tired to do the work on time and easily become exhausted when
I am stressed out, which is why I dislike teaching. The second reason I dislike
teaching is that it requires some after-hours work, such as lesson planning, grading
papers, responding to parent emails, attending meetings, and attending school
events, which may be a problem for me because I am socially active and want to
spend time with my friends, so having a hectic schedule may be difficult. The third
reason I dislike teaching is that it takes time to finish the task at hand, and because
being a teacher requires arriving early and working extra hours, it may interfere with
my personal time and other activities. The fourth reason I despise teaching is
because it demands a full stock knowledge and a higher and better memory to
remember and understand everything, but I sometimes forget things and am not yet
good at coping with studies. Finally, I despise teaching because most people believe
that a teacher must be a perfectionist who knows everything. Even though I am far
from perfect and have made plenty of mistakes, I have learned from them and work
hard to always do things the right way.
