1. Problem #1 (CLO1-20 points)

Force system at Figure 1 is in stable condition. If F2 = 6 kN, please find F1 and θ.

2. Problem #2 (CLO1-30 points)
Please find the resultant and the reference point (titik tangkap) relative to O.

3. Problem #3 (CLO2; 2 questions @25%))

Please answer only 2 questions from 4 questions below.
(If the students answer more than 2 questions, for each extra answer will be penalized by 5 points
and only 2 first answers will be considered to be graded)

3.1. The center of gravity of the 850-N man is at G. If the man pulls on the rope with a 388-N force,
determine
a) Normal Force of the floor relative to the man.
b) the horizontal distance b between the man’s feet and G.

3.2. There are two block that have mass mA = 4.0 kg and mB = 2.0 kg. Block mB have kinetic
friction coefficient 𝜇𝜇k = 0.50. If the block mA and the floor are frictionless and they have an
angle θ = 30° (mass of the rope is negligible). Determine:
a) Draw the FBD of the system
b) Tension of the rope.
c) Acceleration of the systems
Assume g = 9.81 m/s2

3.3. A car with mass = 1000 kg passes the points A, B, and C (R = 90 m). Determine:
a) Maximum velocity at point A (before the car loss contact with the road).
b) The largest normal forces (value and position) between points A, B, and C (velocity’s
value refers to answer (a))

3.4. The man is holding up the 35-kg ladder ABC by pushing perpendicular to
the ladder. If the maximum force that the man can exert is 400 N, determine
a) The smallest angle θ at which he can support the ladder.
b) Forces support at the end of ladder.
