Artificial Intelligence
 1. Definition
o It is the science of making machines capable of replacing human in performing same kind of
functions that human being performs on the basis of his intelligence
o The science and engineering of making intelligent machines by John McCarthy who coined
this term in 1956
 2. Levels of Artificial Intelligence
o There are three levels of A.I
 Narrow Intelligence
 Specialized in one realm e.g. Machine
learning
 General Intelligence
 Specialized in all realm e.g. Robots
 Super Intelligence
 Dream of creating machines smarter than human beings i.e. Prosthetic Limbs
 3. Components of Artificial Intelligence
o According to US National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence, there are six
components:
i. Talent
ii. Hardware
iii. Software
iv. Data
v. Application
vi. Integration
 4. Goals of Artificial Intelligence
o There are following goals of A.I
i. Think like humans
ii. Act like humans in need
iii. Make rational decisions
iv. Act rationally
 5. Application of Artificial Intelligence
o Cognitive Science
 How human brain works and thinks
 Neural System
 Working of brain to recognize pattern
 Fuzzy Logic
 Working on uncomplete data that can humans solve with their intelligence
 Genetic Algorithms
 Set of mathematical rules that specify how combination of steps are to be
formed
 Export System
 Works like an export
