It’s not us,

It’s our hormone.

The hormone and their influence on feelings.

H ormones are the chemical messenger’s which are secreted from endocrine glands acts as
messenger when released into bloodstream and influence physical, physiologically,
behavioural changes, thus interfering throughout the whole life with increasing roles, sexuality,
reproduction, metabolism, sleep, mood etc. These chemical messengers of endocrine and brain
system are known to be magic but actually mean “feelings”. They are different types of
hormones influencing the feelings. The hormones are
Dopamine – “Feel good” hormone
Serotonin – “Happy” hormone
Oxytocin – “Love” hormone
Melatonin – “Sleep” hormone
Cortisol – “Stress” hormone
Oestrogen – “Sex” hormone
Adrenaline – “flight- or- fight” hormone
These each hormone on their fluctuation changes the human behaviour and influences emotion
and feelings and are responsible for our mental state. Not only hormones influence the human
behaviour but also behaviour and environment can influence the hormones. For example,
melatonin is a hormone which produces in responses of darkness and help us to sleep well so
on being exposure to light at night can block melatonin secretion. Imbalance in this hormone
secretion may leads to many adverse effects like depression, anxiety and mood swings.
Abnormal release of estragon in females may leads to no menstruation or abnormal
menstruation, weight gain, low sex desire etc. Due to fluctuation in estragon level during
pregnancy and menstruation women’s show more mood swings. Abnormality in hormones is
due to external factors like stress, lack of sleep & rest, junk food. So due to this hormone’s
levels get disturbed at leads to change in human behaviour. So hormones can effect the feelings
and feelings can affect the hormone level in body which are total interlinked with each other.
