Learning disability

Learning disability is a neurological disorder that affects a person ability to think,


spell, listen, read, write, speak.

This types of learning disability are


 Dyscalculia disorder that affects a person ability to understand number.
 Dyslexia disorder that affects a person reading and speaking ability.
 Language processing disorder that affects a person ability to attach
meanings to sound groups.
 Non-verbal learning skills is a disorder that affects a person’s ability to
recognize non verbal language.
 Visual perceptual disorder that affects a person’s ability to understand
information they see .
Speech and language impairment
Speech or language impairment means a communication disorder, such as
stuttering, impaired articulation, language impairment, or a voice impairment,
that adversely affects a child's educational performance
Autism
Autism is a spectrum disorder that affects your communication skills, social interactions
and is engaged with repetitive activities.
Emotional and behavioral disorder

An emotional and behavioural disorder is an emotional disability characterized by the


following: An inability to build or maintain satisfactory interpersonal relationships with
peers and/or teachers.

Types of emotional and behavioural disorders

 Bipolar disorder.
 Learning disorders.
 Anxiety disorder.

Intellectual disability
It Affect’s a person’s intellectual and adaptive behavior. Some common types disabilities
are; Cerebral palsy, Epilepsy, Vision impairment, Hearing loss, Speech and language
problems
Physical and health impairments
Includes those impairments caused by disease (e.g. poliomyelitis, bone tuberculosis,
etc.), and impairments from other causes (e.g., cerebral palsy, amputations, and
fractures or burns impairments caused by a congenital anomaly (e.g. clubfoot, absence
of some member, etc.

impairments. This specialized technology promotes independence and decreases the
need for other support. Rehabilitative and assistive technology can enable individuals
to: Care for themselves and their families.

 Anti-discrimination legislation is a statute that makes it illegal in a
number of ways to discriminate against an individual with a disability.
 Vocational education and training helps to ensure that the workforce
has the requisite skills and expertise to attain and sustain a job.
 Wage subsidies limit wage time for workers as a way to reduce the
danger perceived by employers of employing a disabled worker.

 Shelter Workshops-A service that only hires people with disabilities.
