Career Goals

When I was little, I wanted to be a singer and an actress. I got to play the trumpet in

middle school and sing in the choir in high school, however, I never got to act but I’m okay with

that because I somehow managed to get stage fright. During all of that, I found a new love for

decorating and creating floorplans for homes but in The Sims 3 and 4. Since then I have wanted

to be an interior designer/decorator and possibly an architect. Even though I’m not actively in

those majors focusing specifically on that, it is still on my radar. When I was applying for

college, I was so interested in my career choices, however, since that time almost 2 years ago my

viewpoint has changed. I’m confused about what I want to do, and those are my main choices,

but there could be a different future for me. As of right now, I want to become a successful

architect and eventually run my own business or firm (I don’t know the proper terms) that

specializes in architecture and interior design. That way people can kind of get a two-for-one in

the same place; once their house is built they can have it styled by us (if they like our work of

course). The Sims and the Internet have helped me dive deeper into my interests and potential

goals regarding my career choices because it has given me a place to test out what I might be

able to do. Creating a multitude of floorplans and decorating the interior has given me a lot of

creative freedom to explore different homes, styles, personalities, etc. CCBC is a part of my

journey to help me discover more of myself and help me decide what I should do for the near

and possibly later future. I’m hoping that I stick to these goals and there isn’t a specific timeline

because I’d rather not pressure myself into getting it all done within that timeframe. With support

and dedication, I should be able to accomplish all the goals I set for myself and I can have the

future that I’ve dreamed up.
