The latest COVID-19 outbreak is the world's worst health disaster in a century.

COVID-19 is a threat to the global community, posing new challenges to governments, health-
care systems, and organizations to respond effectively. Low- and middle-income countries with
inadequate health-care systems are particularly vulnerable. The COVID-19 pandemic has
undoubtedly shook our society, particularly in the Philippines. The country's and government's
response to the rapid spike of cases in the Philippines was, to put it mildly, sluggish.
Furthermore, the provision of supplies and food products to both ordinary population and
frontliners remains inefficient.
The current situation has made an impact on Filipinos' daily lives. Everything still
feels surreal a month into the enhanced community quarantine. The current situation has
severely harmed our country, as more than 6500 Filipinos have been diagnosed with the
coronavirus, with approximately more than 500 deaths as a result of the aforementioned
pandemic. The impacts of COVID-19 are far-reaching, with many families experiencing
financial hardship as a result of multiple businesses terminating several employees due to the
economic strain the pandemic has brought. Being able to eat three meals a day and still have a
roof over my head in a time when so many people are left to wonder where their next meal will
come from makes me feel incredibly fortunate and blessed. I'm grateful that I'm safe at home
and that all I have to do to maintain that safety is adhere to the community quarantine's rules.
I would say that the biggest challenge in living within the outbreak of COVID-19
would be facing the fact that many of our fellow human beings, most especially our frontliners,
are suffering amidst the pandemic. The Enhanced Community Quarantine, which forbids people
from leaving their homes, is another difficulty. The situation's saving grace, though, is the
lessons it would teach us. For instance, it teaches us to always be ready for a scenario similar to
this in the future. These have given me the impression that although there are people who can
improve the world, it is up to society to do so.
