SHEENA PHAULINE R. PEREY

Faculty Member

St. Augustine School-Mendez

Ms. Sheena:

The Work Immersion Program is one of the course requirements for graduation. A SHS student has
to undergo work immersion in a business organization or establishment with work requirements
related to the specialization. Through work immersion, the students are exposed to and are familiarized with
the work-related environment related to their field of specialization. Specifically, the students are able to:

1. Gain relevant and practical industrial skills under the guidance of industry experts and workers;
2. Appreciate the importance and application of the principles and theories taught in the classroom;
3. Enhance their technical knowledge and skills; and
4. Prepare them to meet the needs and challenges of employment, entrepreneurship, or higher
education after their graduation.

In this regard, I am requesting you to accommodate Ms. Leila Natasha G. Perido, a Grade 12 student
under Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strand to be her mentor as she will fulfill her work
immersion as a student-teacher in our school starting on April 17 until April 21, 2023 or until the required
number hours are met. This student is required to complete the minimum but not limited to 40 hour- work
immersion proper. We believe that you can assist the student to gain more knowledge and skills and
optimize her potentials for her future work.

As her mentor, we expect that you will:

 orient the student-teacher to the school setting, including safety procedures, school policies, and
duties or responsibilities of the faculty;

1|SHS
 serve as a model and information source for your practice teacher to help improve teaching skills
and develop new instructional strategies, to understand and develop teacher-student rapport and
relationships, and to understand both the cognitive and affective aspects of teaching and learning.
 Assigned them in assisting you in giving lectures, assessment, etc. during the subject hour in
ENGLISH of your handled grade levels;
 help the student-teacher understand their role as it relates to their teaching assignment and the total
school program and to define the extent of their responsibility and authority;
 provide opportunities for the student-teacher to gain experience in management of regular school
duties with as much initiative and responsibility as the situation will permit; and
 complete the evaluation form on student-teacher's performance.

We are looking forward for your full cooperation on our Work Immersion Program.

Respectfully yours:

MR. KEVIN P. GUINSISANA
