Social Function
We use passive sentences (usually called
passive voice) when it is not important who or
what does the action.
Passive voice is used when we want to
emphasize the action (the verb) and the object
of a sentence rather than subject.
 Flat glass is used in windows by the driver.
 Insects are considered dangerous animals by
the teachers.
 Tsunami is caused by an earthquake.

Rearrange the sentences into a good factual report text.

 A large number of Javanese bulls have been illegally hunted by human for
domestication. Now, the number of Javanese bulls is endangered, so the
government declared Baluran National Park is a conservation area for Javanese
bulls.
 Javanese bulls are found in Java and Bali. They largely inhabit dense lowland
rain forests, tall grass, and reed beds that are plentiful near rivers, flood plains
or we areas with mud, swamps, and cloud forests.
 They are about 1,55m tall and 2,5m length. It might weigh up to 900 kg. Males
are black and have two pointed horns. Females are buff and their horns are short
and curved.
 The Javanese bulls are herbivorous animals, eating almost all plants, such as
leaves, flowers, buds, fruits, berries, and roots. The predator of Javanese bulls is
leopards and tigers. Yet, humans are the biggest threat to Javanese bulls.
 The Javanese bulls use their horns for protection, intimidation, and breaking
branches during feeding. The horns are made from strong keratin. The horns are
also used for traditional medicine.
