People’s Park

The People’s Park in Davao is located Uy Building, 49 Jln Palma Gil St, Davao
City, 8000 Davao del Sur. The People's Park was constructed by converting the former
PTA Grounds, also known as the Palaruang Panlunsod (lit. "City Playground"), a city
athletic and events facility, into a park. In July 2006, work began on converting the
grounds into the "PTA Park," at a cost of $71 million. During the Kadayawan festival in
August 2007, the park had a soft opening.

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Aboitiz Power Inc., the proponent of a $450 million coal-
fired power station in this city, has pledged to "not do anything" to harm the
environment.
"Our firm has been operating in Davao for over 50 years. We consider ourselves to be
members of the community, and we will not do anything that will harm the community in
which we live "Manuel M. Orig, Aboitiz Power Inc.'s first vice president for Mindanao,
stated this during a roundtable discussion on the project hosted by the Davao
Association of Colleges and Schools (Dacs) on Friday at San Pedro College.
AC ENERGY

AC Energy, the power generation business of the Ayala Group, has agreed to sell its full
investment in a 552-megawatt coal-fired plant in Lanao del Norte to its partner, Power
Partners Ltd. Co. Ayala Corp. stated in a regulatory filing that the deal would entail the
sale of all of AC Energy's stake in GNPower Kauswagan (GNPK), with the price to be
set later.
