The provided bar chart demonstrates the information on the divorce rates in two European
nations namely Finland and Sweden over a 5-year period, starting from 2011.

Overall, it can easily be seen that both countries’ figures showed fluctuations at the beginning
of the period. Although there was an upward trend in the rate of Finland, the marriage
separation ratio of Sweden experienced a downward trend.

At the beginning of the period, the figure for Sweden was/ stood at approximately 45%. After
one year, it grew to nearly 50%. Nevertheless, there was a slight decrease by 5% in two years
later and fell to 37% in the end of the period recorded.

In terms of the percentage of divorce in Finland, it started at around 35%, which as 10% less
than that of Sweden. The year 2012 saw a moderate reduction by 4% before steadily going up
to around 40% during the next two years. However, the divorce proportion remained
unchanged in the last year recorded, outracing that of Sweden.
