GIMS University Portal

Introduction:
GIMS University portal is an online platform that can be used for serving different
kinds of services and providing useful resources for students, faculty members
and administrations. Guidance to some of its functionalities are given below.
User Categories:
o Student
o Teacher
o Administrator

1. Student Guidance:
1.1. Login as Student:
Firstly, student must go to the “https://gims.portal.edu.pk”. Secondly,
Student will click on the “Login As Student” button right in the middle of
the screen. If student is registered as a student on the online portal,
student will enter credentials, and click on “Login” button. If the
credentials are valid, it will redirect to the student dashboard. It will
show an error message if credentials are not valid. If student is not
registered on online portal, it must be registered first.
1.2. Download Fee Voucher:
To download fee voucher, student must be logged-in as student. Firstly,
student will click on three bars button, in the upper left corner, this
button is called “Menu Button”. All the possible menus will appear.
Student will click on “Download Fee Voucher” button. It will open a
dialogue box, asking to download the fee voucher. Student will click on
“Download” button, and it will download free voucher.
1.3. Upload Assignment:
To upload assignment, student must be logged-in. First of all, student
clicks on three bars button, in the upper left corner, it is called “Menu
Button”. Student will click on “LMS option”, it will redirect the student to
the LMS portal. Student clicks on “Assignments” button, it will show all
the courses. Selecting the course will show the assignments’ list of that
course. Student will click on “Upload” button for the concerning
assignment. It will open up a window to select solved assignment.
Student will navigate to the assignment and click “Select”. It will upload
the assignment. To confirm that if right assignment is uploaded, student
can download back the uploaded assignment by clicking on “Download”
button for the concerning assignment.
1.4. Download Course Resources:
To download resources related to a course, go to “Menu Options” by
clicking on three bars button, in the upper left corner of the screen. Now
click no “LMS”, and go to “Resources”. A menu box will appear, select
the course, and it will show all the resources of the course. Student can
now download any recourse here.
1.5. View Attendance:
Student can view attendance sheet by clicking on “three bars” button, in
the top left corner, and then clicking on “Attendance” button. It will
redirect the student to the attendance sheet.
1.6. View Marks:
To view marks of a specific semester, student will click on three bars
button to toggle “Menu Options”, and click on “Marks” button, and it
will ask to select “the semester”. Select the semester, and it will show
the marks sheet of the semester.
1.7. Perform Teacher Evaluation:
To perform teacher evaluation, go to side bar menu options, and clicks
on “Teacher Evaluation”. It will redirect the student to the teacher
evaluation if there is any to perform. If there is no teacher evaluation
available, it shows “Nothing to do”. To proceed, student will complete all
the required MCQs and subjective questions. Student then click on next,
and perform the same fields for the other teachers. At the end, it shows
a “Submit Evaluation” button, student clicks on it, and it will redirect the
student to the dashboard as a sign of completed teacher evaluation.
1.8. Perform Course Evaluation:
To perform course evaluation, go to side bar menu options, and clicks on
“Course Evaluation”. It will redirect the student to the course evaluation
if there is any to perform. If there is no course evaluation available, it
shows “Nothing to do”. To proceed, student will complete all the
required MCQs and subjective questions. Student then click on next, and
perform the same fields for the other courses. At the end, it shows a
“Submit Evaluation” button, student clicks on it, and it will redirect the
student to the dashboard as a sign of completed course evaluation.
1.9. View Time table:
To view time table, student has to go to the side bar “Menu options”,
and click on “View Time table” button, it will redirect the student to the
time table of the current semester.
1.10. Upload Quizzes:
To upload quizzes, student must be logged-in. First of all, student clicks
on three bars button, in the upper left corner, it is called “Menu Button”.
Student will click on “LMS option”, it will redirect the student to the LMS
portal. Student clicks on “Quizzes” button, it will show all the courses.
Selecting the course will show the quizzes’ list of that course. Student
will click on “Upload” button for the concerning quiz. It will open up a
window to select solved quiz. Student will navigate to the quiz and click
“Select”. It will upload the quiz. To confirm that if right quiz is uploaded,
student can download back the uploaded quiz by clicking on
“Download” button for the concerning quiz.
2. Being Teacher:
2.1. Upload Assignment:
To upload assignment for a specific department’s semester, teacher
selects “LMS” from the “Menu Options” and selects “Assignments”.
