Advertising
Advertising is the process and techniques used to promote a product or service to an
intended audience. The aim of advertising is to sell the product and a way of doing this is by
showing a small bit of the product to entice the target audience into buying the product.
Advertising is a way to get the intended audience to see the product which would then bring
income into it. It is an important thing to do if you are wanting to sell the product because it
brings awareness to the audience which then encourages the target audience to be engaged
with the product.
Media products can be advertised in 4 key different formats:
● Web Adverts
● Print Adverts
● Video
● Audio
This advert is a video advertisement on YouTube and also shown on TV which lasts 30
seconds . The advert includes four women sitting round a table talking which could come
across as gossiping, having a conversation about other people's lives. On the table there is
also a magazine which one of the women started reading. These four women are sitting
around the table speaking about what content is inside the magazine.The reason why they
have decided to do the advert this way is because it appeals to the target audience as they
are reenacting what the target audience would be doing. It is also relevant for the target
audience as all the people in this advert are women who are in the age of 25-51 which is
what the target audience for Take A Break magazine is. There isn't any music in the advert,
it's just the women talking, then towards the end of the advert the women are laughing then it
pans out to the logo of Take A Break with the laughter in the background. The reason the
advert is like this is because it indicates how the target audience acts once reading the
magazine. There is also no music because the magazine mainly revolved around talking and
gossiping.
