MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF BARANGAY COUNCIL FOR THE PROTECTION OF

CHILDREN (BCPC) OF BARANGAY LUCOG, TABUK CITY, KALINGA, CONDUCTED ON MARCH 21,
2022 AT THE BARANGAY MULTI-PURPOSE HALL, LUCOG, TABUK CITY

The meeting was convened at 3:00 pm. The presiding officer Hon. Nicanor D. Edas upon quorum has
constituted, presented the agenda to be given appropriate action as follows:
AGENDA:
1.Update Children health status
2.other matter
The BCPC Chair, informed the body that for the first quarter, new update of health status of 15 years
old below children must be first on the line of the priorities. And the Hon. Charlene C. Malaga moved
a motion for a need to conduct a weighing activity to be surveyed by the BNS assisted with the
barangay health workers and all members of the body unanimously seconded. The Dep-Ed Rep, Mrs.
Flordeliza Sannadan, stressed out that the school will facilitate the weighing activity to the BNS and
BHW during the school days at 10:00 in the morning to keep the activity fast and easy. And after due
consideration and deliberation, the BCPC Chair found all motions moved were all in line of the
barangay development aspect, and pronounced that she will manage to inform the BNS and BHWs to
perform the said activity immediately.
Adjournment: And since there being no other matter to be discussed the meeting was adjourned
at 4:00 pm.

2022 AT THE BARANGAY MULTI-PURPOSE HALL, LUCOG, TABUK CITY

The meeting was convened at 3:00 pm. The presiding officer Hon. Nicanor D. Edas upon quorum has
constituted, presented the agenda to be given appropriate action as follows:
Agenda:
1. Submission of identified underweight children;
2. Other matters.
The BHW headed by Gemma tadile, presented to the body the result of the weighing activities they
conducted. And the body found out that based on the report two (2) male and one (1) female
underweight children as per data submitted has identified. The Leonila Balunggay, stressed out since
the children need to keep well-nourished health status, proposed a feeding program of 1-10 y/o at
least once in every month to maintain the health of the children and all members present
unanimously seconded. And on other matter, the Presiding Officer informed the body that a reliable
source informed at her office that there were female high school students in the barangay that often
cutting out from their classes. And after due consideration and deliberation, the BCPC Chair directly
mandate to the body to call the attention of parents who had female high school students to visit at
their school for inquiry of their children classes attendance.

DISCUSSION PROPER:
1. REPORTING:
1.1 DAY CARE RECOGNITION RITE. Mrs. Jeanet Turingan, day care worker, reported
about the RECOGNITIN RITE for school year 2021-2022. The activity was held at the
Pinagan Daycare Center; According to Mrs. Turingan, there are 22 candidates for
recognition coming from the Daycare center of the barangay. She said that as usual,
outstanding and special awards were given to exemplary preschoolers. A copy of the
program was furnished by Mrs. Turingan to the BCPC for record purposes.
1.2 SUMMER CLASSES HELD ON JUNE-JULY, 2017. The holding of the two-month
summer classes was also taken up. This is a regular program of the DCC. The DCC teacher
thereafter announced that enrolment will be going on by the 3rd week of June, 2022 and
that they will hold a parent’s orientation on June 6, 2017.
2. STATUS OF THE FEEDING PROGRAM OF THE DCCs. The DCC feeding program is being
sustained. This activity usually starts in January and is being continued during the summer
months. As to the status of the FEEDING PROGRAM, Engr. Dorothy P. Felipe informed
everyone present that the regular feeding of twice a week is still being practiced and
conducted to help the malnourished children in our barangay. For the 1st quarter of this year,
malnourished children who were under the feeding program have attained their normal
weights.

constituted, presented the agenda to be given appropriate action as follows:

AGENDA & BUSINESS FOR THE DAY:

1. Activities for the Holiday Season;
2. Other matters.

DISCUSSION PROPER:

This fourth quarter, the committee added the SLAM for Kids program of the United Methodist Church.
Sponsors were sought for children interested to learn to play different musical instruments during
school vacation. Summer class for Day Care Center pupils was also offered handled by scholar ng
Bayan which was likewise part of their own program.

The committee has a new and unique program during Christmas vacation. Pupils will jointly attend a
Children’s Summit from the Barangay Day Care Center. This aims to give these young children
worthwhile and wholesome experiences through games and music, etc. That from doing so, they will
have time only for things that would help them become good citizens of our society.
