Materials/ “Adjectives describe nouns” and “Verbs are actions”. Students
Resources: will repeat the definitions as a class. Then to practice telling the
differences the teacher will give words like tree, singing,
strong, fish, house, funny, etc. Then students will volunteer to
say whether it is a noun, adjective, or verb. Once the teacher
feels that the students understand these three things and can tell
the difference the students will get time to play a game on their
computers/ipads and small groups of students will work with a
teacher on a worksheet. So students who are not with the
teacher will play the game involving telling the difference
between nouns, verbs, and adjectives.

Students: Students will listen to the teacher as they teach the

students about the difference between nouns, adjectives, and
verbs. Then they will participate in the class discussion when
needing to separate the words given by the teacher. Then
students will act appropriately on their computers and stay on
task playing the game. Then they will come to the small group
table with the teacher and will actively pay attention and
participate in doing the worksheet as a group.

Teacher Materials: Whiteboard, marker, handouts.

Students' Materials: Pencils & computers.

Reflection on last
session & In a past lesson we learned about capitalization and part of
rationale for this capitalization is capitalizing important nouns. So this lesson is
lesson (use to help students learn what a noun is and also verbs and
evidence) adjectives so they can know what to capitalize. Because in the
pen pal, a lot of nouns were not capitalized and so learning
what words are nouns so they know what ones to capitalize and
what ones not too.

Students love playing games on their computers/ipads so

implementing that into lessons in an educational way is super
fun for them.
