Narrator- (Bianca)

Anabel, Roany and Lizany are teachers and they have been teaching for several years now. They
realized that they needed a raise in their salary because it was about time since they had been teaching
at Muffles for several years. Therefore, they gathered and concluded that they were going to ask the
principal Mrs. Margie. For a raise in their pay but Mrs. Margie listened to them and refused. They then
decided that they would talk to the union leader. The leader was on their side and said that she was going
to ask. She did but also go.gt denied. Therefore, they got together with the leader and decided that the
teachers will join the union and will have a sit down strike where they will only go to work, to their
corresponding class and do nothing, just sit down without teaching just so that their place isn't taken and
replaced.

Lizany- Teachers, we need a raise in our salaries. It is about time. We have been teaching for
several years and still get the same amount of payment.

Roany- Yes, indeed.

Anabel- We need to ask for it though.

Lizany- Then, let’s go ask the principal.

(WALKING TO PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE)

Lizany- Good day Mrs. Margie. May we please talk with you about something?

SHandira- Sure Teachers, Come in. Tell me what is the problem?

Roany- Well, we were just talking, and we realized that it is about time that we get an increase
in our salary.

Lizany- Yes! We have been teaching for years here in muffles but yet we are still getting paid
the same amount.

Shandira- I’m Sorry teachers but that won’t be possible, I can’t increase your salaries.

Lizany- Okay, Mrs. At Least we tried.

(Walking OUT OF OFFICE)

Anabel- We need to do something; we can’t just leave it like this.

Roany- I agree, we must take action.

Lizany- What if we talk to the leader of the union?

Roany- That is a great idea. Let’s do that.

(WALKING TO THE LEADER AKA BIANCA)

Roany- Good Evening Mrs. we wanted to talk to you about a situation, may we?

Bianca- Sure, what is it?

Lizany- well, we noticed that it is about time we have a raise in our salaries because we have
been teaching for years but we asked the Principal and she said no, that can’t happen.

Bianca- Hmm, well I will go talk to the principal and see if she agrees to raise your salaries.

Anabel- Thank you very much.

(BIANCA WALKING TO THE PRINCIPAL’S OFFICE)

Bianca- Good evening Mrs. May I speak with you?

Shandira- Good Day, Sure you may. What brings you here?

Bianca- well I got some complaints from some teachers and claimed that they asked if they may
have a raise in their salaries, but you declined. So, I want to personally ask you if raising their
salaries may be possible.

Shandira- Look, I am really and truly sorry but unfortunately that cannot happen, and I made it
very clear to them.

Bianca- Well thank you for your time.

(BIANCA WALKS UP TO US TEACHERS)

Bianca- I am Sorry but She also denied. But we must not give up because I have a solution.

Lizany- Yes, tell us, what is the plan?

Bianca- Well, You teachers would have to join the union and that way we would be able to
strike.

Roany- So when we join we will be able to strike, but what type of strike?

Bianca- We would do a Sit-down Strike. You all will report to school tomorrow but in each class
that you have tomorrow you will NOT teach; you will only sit there and wait for the session to be
over.
Anabel- That sounds like a good plan.

Lizany- Okay so we will report to school, but we will not teach am i right?

Bianca- Yes, exactly!

FOLLOWING DAY
(ANABEL, ROANY AND LIZANY, WILL GO SIT IN OUR DESK)

ANABEL, ROANY and LIZANY- Alright class, today I will not be teaching so find something to
do.

Narrator (Bianca)- The following day the teachers reported to school, attended the classes they
had for that day but didn’t teach, they just went and sat on the teachers desk and did nothing.

Bianca- A sit down Strike is a strike where the employees report to work, they go to their
respective area and do not work but are there so that their place isn’t replaced by someone
else.
