Notes - Teacher Leadership Project

● One of the best ideas that my Mentor and I chose for my teacher
leadership project is to conduct a professional development meeting
with all of the staff to discuss the importance of making education
fun. Most people, adults and children, did not or do not enjoy a lot of
school. I believe that this is due to students not having a fun time
when engaging in educational or academic activities. Therefore, I
think that we could improve as educators to make school more fun,
and less of a chore. This could include lowering the amount of
homework so that students have more time to pursue their passions.
Another could include increasing the number of games in class, as
that not only promotes healthy competition, but also they are
enjoying the learning process much more.
● The audience that I expect to attend my presentation is the current
staff of educators and administrators at the school I work at. I need
to speak with the administrators at my school to identify the best
date for the staff to be present for my presentation on making
education more fun. I would like to conduct this meeting within the
month of March, but we will see as it depends on the availability in
the schedule for all the educators and administrators at my school.
● One of the potential biggest constraints for successfully completing
the project is going to be the time constraint, as it is difficult to find a
time where all teachers are able to be present at the same time,
unless it was already in the scheduled staff meeting. I plan to
mitigate this time constraint by asking my administrators which
dates and times would be the best date and time for me to conduct
my meeting on how to make school more enjoyable for the students.
