must enforce discipline in and out of the
classroom and follow the chain of

The Importance of Being Punctual in the Workplace
Definitions:
Attendance – Being at work or school every day.
Punctuality – Being on time.
Absenteeism – Not going to work.
Tardiness – Being late for school or work.

Reliable, consistent attendance is requirement and essential function of all staff position.
Employees are expected to be punctual and dependable in order to meet the needs of the
department. When employees are absent or tardy, work and service are interrupted and an
additional burden is placed on colleagues. Attendance and reliability are important factors
evaluating individual performance and continued self-improvement.

Unacceptable practices in the workplace


 Failure to report promptly at the starting time of the session or leaving before the
scheduled quitting time of the session without the specific approval of the supervisor.
 Unexcused or excessive absenteeism.
 Failure to observe the limits and scheduling of sessions and teaching periods.
 Failure to notify the supervisor promptly of unanticipated absence or tardiness.

Why you should be punctual at the workplace?


 It shows that you are respectful.
 It proves that you are reliable.
 Increases the school output.
 Builds up personal relationships
