Flooding and Forest Fires in British Columbia
Flooding and Forest Fires in British Columbia
Section 3
Mrs. Briones
A natural disaster of flooding has been occurring in British Columbia for the past few years now.
In 50-100 years from now, the world will be underwater. This is a sign of climate change.
Climate change is causing the glaciers to melt, meaning that sea levels will rise, causing floods
around the world. Climate change is warming the oceans, meaning that fish like salmon must
develop in an unfamiliar environment, meaning that they get diseased. The government is
struggling to find how to find a solution to either delay or stop climate change; however, these
solutions may not last 50-100 years. We are still going to see major changes in our climate. The
glaciers in the arctic are already melting; it would be exceedingly difficult for them to last up to
100 years if the trend of pollution keeps rising in the world. In conclusion, wildlife is struggling
to develop a new lifestyle, meaning that they are dying, and floods are ruining forests and other
natural landscapes. We will also be struggling to survive if there are more effects of climate
change arriving.
Forest Fires have been destroying the natural landscapes that God has given us. Where are these
forest fires coming from? Forest fires are occurring specifically due to climate change. Climate
change makes temperatures warmer, causing trees to catch fire. The pollution on earth creates
climate change, making temperatures warmer. In 50-100 years, the world will be nearly
destroyed because of climate change. Recently, the amount of pollution has been increasing
since the 1800s. This trend will continue if we do not act accordingly to reduce climate change.
If we waited too long, it would be too late. In the end, our acting to delay climate change will
provide a better future for our potential children and grandchildren. We should limit the use of
fossil fuels and remove gas appliances to replace them with electric ones. Deforestation will also
affect the animals in our environment. In the future, if we do not limit pollution, we may lose
most wildlife.
