II. NON-STOP WRITING. Write your concise learning about the following.

1. What is quantitative research?

Quantitative research is an objective, systematic empirical investigation of observable

phenomena through the use of computational techniques.

2. What are the differences between the strengths and weaknesses of quantitative research?

The differences between the strengths and weaknesses of quantitative research is that

even though it uses bigger number of sample to gain more real, unbiased, and accurate data,

it is also it’s weakness because it is costly for providing the materials like questionnaires and it

also requires greater man power and sometimes much information are difficult to gather if the

topic is confidential.

3. Describe each type of quantitative research design. Give example each.

Example: Survey - used to gather information from groups of people by selecting and
studying samples chosen from a population.
Example: Preference T.V network of viewers in General Santos City.

Descriptive Research - Is a type of research that describes a population, situation, or

phenomenon that is being studied.

Survey - Collection of data via questionnaire to a person.

Example: Survey created to newly enrolled grade 11 students to determine where are their

schools before.

Correlation Research - Is a type of non-experimental research in which researcher

measures the relationship of two to three variables.

Example: a researcher is studying a correlation between height and weight. In this study, there

are two variables: height and weight. Let us say height has a positive association

with

weight. This means that as height increases, weight also increases.

Quasi-Experimental - involves the manipulation of an independent variable without the

random participants or orders of conditions.

Example: Study of the effects of an integrated care intervention for the frail elderly on informal

caregivers’ satisfaction with care and support

Experimental Research – it’s a collection of research design which you can manipulate

and controll to understand casual processes.

Example: A research about the growth and development of Vigna radiata (Mung bean)

through

different types of light used.
