*Sign Language starts when Chloe and Neo start to speak* - Kian Punay
Neo: Good morning, and welcome to GFS daily news. Our top story today is the alarming rise in
gas prices in the Philippines. Chloe, can you give us more details on this developing story?
Chloe: Yes, Neo. Gas prices have been steadily increasing in recent weeks, with the national
average for a gallon of regular gas reaching 70 pesos, a 65% increase from just a month ago
Neo: That's a significant increase in just a short amount of time. Have there been any measures
taken to address this issue, Chloe?
Chloe: The government has not acted yet, but there are calls for them to intervene and provide
relief to consumers affected by rising prices. Suggestions include regulating prices or providing
subsidies to ease the burden on the public.
Neo: Thank you, Chloe, for that update. We'll be sure to keep our viewers informed as this
situation develops. And now, onto our next story.
Neo: Up next, we have an issue that's been causing concern among Filipino consumers: the
rising prices of onions. Chloe, can you give us an update on what's been going on?
Chloe: Indeed, Neo. Onion prices have risen by up to 50% in some regions due to increased
transportation costs and weather-related problems affecting the harvests.
Neo: That's certainly alarming news. Have there been any steps taken to address this issue?
Chloe: Well, so far, the government has not taken any major action, but there have been calls for
them to intervene and aid both farmers and consumers affected by the rising prices.
Neo: That's something we'll be keeping an eye on. Can you give us an idea of how much more
expensive onions are now, Chloe?
Chloe: Sure, Neo. In some areas, the price of onions has gone up to as much as 120 pesos per
kilogram, compared to the usual price of 80 pesos
Neo: Thank you, Chloe, for that update on the rising onion prices in the Philippines. We'll
continue to monitor this situation and bring our viewers the latest information. Stay tuned for
more news after the break.

broadcast from Tacloban City.

*Sign Language starts when Leigh Anne starts to speak* - Kian Punay
Reporter (Leigh Deguzman): Thank you, chloe. I am here in Tacloban City to check the current
condition of the weather and the residents here. I have spoken to a few residents here, including
Renske who will describe the harrowing experience of being trapped in their homes as the storm
rages on outside.
Reporter (Leigh Anne): Can you tell us about your experience during the storm?
Resident [Renske Rance]: It was like nothing I've ever experienced before. The wind was so
strong that it felt like our roof was going to be torn off.
Reporter (Leigh Anne): How did you manage to stay safe?
Resident [Renske Rance]: We were lucky enough to have a strong house and we were able to
stay inside, but it was still terrifying.
Reporter [Leigh Anne]: What do you think the situation is like for others who might not have
been as fortunate?
Resident [Renske Rance]: I can only imagine how much worse it must be for them.
Reporter [Leigh Anne]: Typhoon Daluyong has already taken many people’s lives, while others
are still evacuating. The Philippine government and local authorities have activated their disaster
