Motivation

Let’s have an activity this activity entitled “GUESS THE GIBERRISH WORD” for the mechanics of
the game, you just basically need to guess a word or phrase.  Is that clear class?

For the 1st Gibberish word, “Cool-link-tang” who wants to try?

Next, Gibberish! “Bomb-Bu” Would you mind to give a try Jericho?

Nice idea, you may now take your seat!

Presentation of the New Lesson

Since we already discussed the meaning of the different instrumental music of Mindanao
yesterday. Today, we are just going to familiarize their meaning and sounds so that later you can
apply it on your activities.

We have only 3 Instrumental Music in Mindanao.

We have Kulintang Ensemble, Bamboo Ensemble, and the Solo Instrument.

Now, who can tell me the meaning of Kulintang Ensemble.

Again, if we say Kudyapi it is held in the performer’s lap like a guitar while suling is a thin-walled
bamboo tube only.

: It is a gong-based ensemble used by the Maguindanao and Maranao of western ma’am &
kulintang also varied functions but are mostly used for celebrations and rituals ma’am!

: before, bamboos they used it as a spiritual connection from our physical world to the spiritual,
ma’am!

: Bamboo instruments were made for purpose because they used it for entertainment and personal
expression, ma’am!

: For solo instrument, we have only two ma’am! We have kudyapi and Suling ma’am!
