It is hereby notified that the following sitting arrangements are made


for the Summer Vacation 2023 (i.e., from 29.04.2023 to 31.05.2023), for the

The method of hearing of cases being followed now in the Madras
High Court (both Principal Seat and Madurai Bench) will be applicable for the
Summer Vacation Sitting 2023.

Notice of any application of urgent matters alone should be presented


along with the papers to the Vacation Officers from 10.30 a.m. to 01.30 p.m. on
the respective filing dates in the Madras High Court (both Principal Seat and
Madurai Bench) by following the present system of filing of case papers, copy
applications, returning/re-presenting the case papers and receiving the order
copies.
The e-mail id of the Vacation Officers is as follows:-

No application should be presented at the residence of the Hon'ble
Vacation Judges under any circumstances and no lunch motion will be
entertained during the Summer Vacation 2023.
For the bail petitions, Lower Court bail order should be enclosed along
with the petitions.

Working hours of the Registry for the Madras High Court (both
Principal Seat and Madurai Bench), on all working days during the Summer
Vacation 2023 will be from 10.00 a.m. to 4.45 p.m., except on Court sitting days.
The working hours of the Registry on the Court Sitting days will be from
10.00 a.m. to 5.45 p.m. or till the rising of the Court, whichever is later.

this connection, Criminal compoundable offences NI Act cases under Section 138,
Money Recovery cases, MACT cases Labour dispute cases, Electricity and Water
Bills (excluding non-compoundable cases), Matrimonial disputes (Except Divorce),
Land Acquisition cases, Service matters relating to pay and allowances and retiral
benefits, Revenue cases, Other civil cases (rent, easementary rights, injunction suits,
specific performance suits) etc. have been identified and referred for being posted
before National Lok Adalat and Notices to the respective parties have also been sent.

The Learned Advocates are requested to kindly extend their co-operation for
the successful conduct of the National Lok Adalat, which is scheduled to be held on
13.05.2023 (Saturday).

The respective parties are also required to be present in person before


the National Lok Adalat on the said date i.e. on 13.05.2023 (Saturday) at 10.30 a.m.
The parties to the cases and the officials of the Government Departments, Transport
Corporations and Insurance Companies are required to bring their I.D. Proof and
also passport size photos for affixing in the awards. The Advocates, Litigants,
