ACTIVITY NO. 1

Directions: Kindly refer to our Course Syllabus for your answers. Please note that I am seriously
upholding the Academic Integrity of your submitted activities. Thank you.

1. While studying the Course Syllabi, can you describe the course description and its contents?
How can it be suitable for you, a student taking up education-related programs?

- While studying the course syllabi, Its course description said it is the continuation that we
tackled in 1st semester which was the “introduction” of agriculture and fishery. Now, it is a
broader and deeper understanding of agriculture and fishery, and also in this lesson proper,
the “application” of the knowledge in the reality will be the top priority to gradually enhance
my/our skills when it comes to agri-fishery. As a student of Education that is majoring in
TLE-H.E, it is very suitable for me as I can learn the accurate method and skills that I can
also teach my students in the future if I will be a successful educator. It is truly said that the
more honed experience you have, the sturdier and more valid your teaching skills is as you
teach the students in real-life situations that they can relate to themselves.

2. In the syllabi contents, what topics are you most familiar with?

- In the syllabi contents, the topics that I am most familiar with are the following: Animal
Production, Agriculture Crop Production, and Aquaculture for the reason that is I/we
introduced those topics in 1st semester and some of these were also tackled when I was in
high school as a TVL-H.E student. I have a not too shallow but moderate understanding of
this topic/s.

3. What topics are you not familiar with? Can you describe to what extent those topics are
challenging to you?

- The topics that I am not familiar with are: Adjusting and positioning beach seines,
Aquaponics, Maintaining, Preparing, Deploying, and Retrieving Mesh Nets or Gill Nets to
Land Catch. Those are the topics that sound very new to me despite learning the
“introductory” phase of the fishery. I describe it as new, nervous, and exciting at the same
time for the reason that learning new knowledge will be another skill to take as an additional
experience for honing my teaching capability shortly.

4. What are your expectations in this Course? Please elaborate.

- My expectations in this course are to know and gain knowledge about what agriculture and
fishery are. The processes, procedures, and application of initial skills of the lesson proper
will be fully tested in this course which hone the experiences of us Education-TLE- HE
students. I expect that we will do real-life animal husbandry and will teach us the different
factors, classifications, catching skills, and many more in fishery and agriculture.

5. Are you aware of the course assessment? What are the three components of the grading system?

- Yes, I am aware of this course assessment. The three main components of the grading
system in this course based on the syllabi I’ve read are the following: (1) Written Work which
consists of homework, assessment sheets, and others sharing 25% of the overall grading. The
next one is, (2) Performance Tasks which consists of quizzes, laboratory tasks, and projects
sharing 45% of the overall grading and it is also the most important part of the grading
system. The last one is, the Term Assessment which consists of Midterm and Final
Examination sharing the remaining 30% of the overall grading that makes it 100% of
my/our grade.

6. What is your expected grade? (please refer to the grading system in the syllabi). Explain.

- My expected grade in this course based on my situation right now is 1.25 or below because I
believe in myself that I can accomplish those tasks done but not perfect as I slowly adjust
myself and gain confidence to get the work done on this course, especially in the
Performance Tasks area which applying of initial skills in real life is a must. But, despite
those “weaknesses”, I will convert them into my strength to overcome those and comply
properly in this course with a piece of new knowledge and skills to keep as my education
career continues.
