I. Objectives
Learning Competencies:
At the of a 60-minute period, the students are expected to:
a. define pronouns;
b. understand the differences of the cases of pronouns;
c. use the cases of pronouns correctly;
d. construct sentences with proper use of cases of pronouns;
e. compose an essay utilizing different cases of pronouns.

A. Preliminary Activities
1. Greeting
Good morning class! : Good morning, ma’am.

2. Prayer
May I request Jesus to lead us a prayer. : (The student will lead the player)

3. Checking of Attendance
Is everybody present today? : Yes, ma’am.

4. Review
Who can tell me the last discussion we had? : Last meeting, we discussed about analytical
writing techniques, ma’am.

What is the meaning of analytical essay? : An essay that analyzes, interprets, or examines
an art work, a film, a literary work, a song, a
composition or a media text.

What then are the techniques used in analytical : (The students will answer)
writing?

B. Motivation
Activity. “Subject vs. Object Pronouns Board Race”

I will read a pronoun. You are going to choose what case


of pronouns it belong either a subject or an object. Each
student gets one point for their team. The next students
approach the board and the games continues. The team
with the most points at the end of the game wins.
Understood?

Before we delve further, let us first be guided to our
objectives. Please read.

pronouns.
What is pronoun?
Kindly read it in chorus.

: A word that can function by itself as a noun


phrase and that refers either to the participants in
the discourse or to someone or something
Therefore, pronouns are words that can replace nouns. mentioned elsewhere in the discourse.

For example.
Noun- Pencil Pronoun- It
Noun- Mary Pronoun- She

Now, let us proceed to the cases of pronouns.

1. Subjective Case
- A subject pronoun is a personal pronoun that is used as
the subject of a verb

Singular Subjective Pronoun

Plural Subjective Pronoun

2. Possessive Case
- A pronoun indicating possession.
