I. RATIONALE:
Gender sensitivity is the awareness and comprehension of the need to
uphold the gender gap in any organization and at the right levels. The first stage in
developing a program that is gender-sensitive is the creation of goals and
objectives that apply to both men and women. Gender sensitivity training is helping
many organizations raise the bar for assistance and development work with better
effectiveness.
People who are aware of other people's perspectives on gender tend to rely
less on outdated stereotypes and conventional beliefs about what men and women
should and shouldn't do. A tactic to decrease the difficulties caused by prejudice,
aggression, and discrimination based on gender is gender sensitivity education. By
fostering the right kind of gender-sensitive environment, people will respect one
another regardless of their gender.
Pitting women against males is not the goal of gender sensitivity. Instead,
gender-sensitive education is advantageous to people of both sexes. They can
use it to distinguish between stereotyped generalizations and legitimate gender
assumptions. In addition to academic work and comprehension, gender
awareness calls for sensitivity and openness to changing one's viewpoints,
constrained perspectives, and values. It increases both men's and women's
capacities to be more wholesome and humane and opens up the broadest range
of life possibilities imaginable.
II. OBJECTIVES:
1. To develop sensitivity in perceiving existing gender issues and inequalities
2. To recognize the differing situations and needs of men and women and
consider them in every action or decision to be made
3. To enhance stakeholder’s knowledge towards gender issues.
4. To deepen understanding on how and why women’s rights are human
rights.
III. TRAINING METHODOLOGY:
Discussion/Lecture, PPT Presentation, Brainstorming, Small Group Discussion
IV. EXCPECTED OUTPUT OF THE TRAINING
1. Awareness and utilization of knowledge towards Gender Sensitivity and
Development
2. Strong relationship among all stakeholders of Bonifacio Central Elementary
School.
