diameter (d)
How to calculate the radius (r)
circumference of a circle using
the diameter
diameter:
C = πd

C = 3.14 x diameter

So if a circle has a diameter of 10 cm.

The circumference is:

C = 3.14 x 10 circumference (c)

C = 31.4 cm

How to calculate the circumference of a

circle using the radius
radius:
C = 2πr

C = 2 x 3.14 x r

Or C = 3.14 x 2 x r

So if a circle has a radius of 6 cm. The circumference

is:

C = 3.14 x 2 x 6

C = 3.14 x 12

C = 37.68 cm
