1. What are the experiences of the teachers in the new normal set up from

T–
In terms of sudden change of behavior, I was very shocked because they are
so hyper, according to my fellow teachers and parents, it's like they're out of

Imagining they are 8-9 years old they are in grade 3 and at the same time
teacher it’s very hard to handle even though you have those experiences
before but again because of sudden in terms of teaching delivery the distance
terms of their interests we found out that they are very playful.
F4-
Kai syempre lahi ilhang na experience 2 years ago while naa ra silas balay at
the same time labi na ilahang pagka responsible kai naanad sila na parents
T–
Of course, their experience 2 years ago while they were at home and at the
same time they are more responsible because they are used to parents being
F5-
Mao jud labin na sa readings go back to basic. I was really shock na naa koi pupil na
grade 3na cannot even identify mga letter name, letter sound. That is one of my
ecperiences in the sudden change.
T–
I was really shocked that I have a pupil in grade 3 who cannot even identify letter
names, letter sounds. That is one of my experiences in the sudden change
F6-
-
In my part, 2 years online class kato na time kai murag busy kay floating teacher ko
sa grade 3 tas adviser sad ko. Even though 45 minutes klase pero 3 man ka klase.
Tapos naa pay google classroom.
T–
In my part, it has been 2 years of online classes, but im a floating teacher seems to
be busy. Even though it’s a 45-minute class but you have 3 classes. There is also a
Google Classroom. We can only see what children are like. I can go online and it’s
good and nice. After this transition, it’s just a shock.
F7-
In my part I encountered students na lack of confidence siguro sa school
mabaguhan sila making socialize.
T–
In my part, I encountered students who was lacked of confidence, they are new to
socializing with their classmates.
1.1 What do you think is the advantage/s and disadvantage/s of teaching in this
sa parents and also as a teacher positively we have time and chance to rest.
T–
It was easier than before because the adviser was only focused on producing
modules for parents and also as a teacher positively we have time and
chance to rest.
F2-
T–
Just for addition, it's usually what ma'am said. Like us, those who have
experience, but as a modular adviser, for me it lessen our work because you
F3-
Not the same sa amo pod nga nag online class so lahi pod amoa. So double sa
amoa ang trabaho dati na pandemicand kai mag manage pami sa student how can
we assess their learners in modular and during online class so double amo mas
T–
Not the same as the one who took the online class, so it's the same as mine. Our
work was double by assisting on their module and also teaching them online.
F4-
Additional, extra time to give to the students kai sa online class kay 45 minutes ra
ang stream time after that dili na nimo siya mamonitor .
advisory class. Not only teaching naa pod mi coordinator ship so tutukan pod, bali
extra work load pod sa among part.
T–
Additional, extra time to give to the students in the online class because the stream
time is only 45 minutes after that you can no longer monitor them. It’s different from
face to face because from 7:30 am - 4:30 pm you can watch the child. We also have
a coordinator ship, to focus on, it's extra workload on our part.
F5-
In addition in my observation the advantage is independent once they came from
modular at home they became independent some of them.
T–
In addition, in my observation the advantage is independent once they came from
modular at home they became independent some of them.
F6-
While the disadvantages I observed that theres really a gap. Some of them wala na
tudluan sa parents most of them are only depending the modules. The learning is
really different kasi in terms of reading nahihirapan sila.
T–
While the disadvantages I observed that there’s really a gap. Some of them are no
longer taught by parents, most of them are only depending on the modules. The
learning is different because in terms of reading they struggled.
F7-
Mahirap kahit
even simple addition and subtraction nahihirapan pa. That’s the gap na need namo
ma assess.
T–
For me, in math, the children are different when they are in the new normal. It's
difficult even simple addition and subtraction is still difficult for them. That's the gap
that we need to assess.
1.2 How do you prepare yourself in teaching before facing your students?
F1-
Syempre as teacher ka dapat imong self jud pinakauna nimo nae prepare dapat
presentable ka.
T–
presentable.
F2-
Mao jud tapos after ana sa akoa kai ang dlp or daily lesson plan ginaprepare jud
nako sab kai mao mana akong guide on how I teach them.
T–
For me, the DLP or daily lesson plan is being prepared, which is my guide on
F3-
T–
As for me, I prepared engaging activities so that they don't get bored in my class.
F4-
In my part since nag start ang f2f dapat health jud kai syempre dghan ka
mahalobilo sa school para secured pod pag uli sa pamilya so facemask then
T–
In my part, since the f2f started, you must be healthy, of course you can socialize
a lot at school so that you can be secured when you return to your home, so you
F5-
Sa akoa sad na part I prepare myself as dapat ready ka ug unsay mahitabo that
day dapat if nay problem ibilin sa sab alai para d maapektohan ang klase.
T–
On my part, I prepared myself as you should be ready and what will happen that
day, if there is a problem, forget it for the meantime so that the class will not be
affected.
F6-
Ah sa akoa jud dati palang gipreparean na nako like mag attend kog free
seminars para ma apply nako sa akoa students if mag if face to face nag balik
T–
Ah, as for me, I had already prepared like I would attend free seminars so that I
could apply to my students if I could teach them in the room , which is happening
now.
F7-
T–
Of course the room will have to be clean before starting, just like a simple sweep
and mop.
1.3 What are your worst and unforgettable experiences you have encounter in
F1-
buhatun.
T–
In grade 3, there is a huge percentage where they don't know how to read,
don't know how to write, you go back and forth in the instructions and then
F2-
Tapos lahi pod kayo ang behavior nilacompare atong sauna. Mas hyper sila
jud tama tong burag nakagawas sa hawla . taas kayo mig I take na time para
Then their behavior is different compared to before. They are more hyper,
that's right, they pretend to be out of the cage. We take a lot of time to make
F3-
So
nagpahelp ko sa clinic daun. First time nako to . Tapos ako struggle kai d
T–
For me, as MAPEH teacher who teach online and modular, they can
perform at home, parents can guide them to perform, but in face to face hits
different, One time there is a child that I experienced in the fitness challenge
which is hula hoop, then suddenly he felt pain but he has no background of
asthma. So I got help from the clinic there. It's my first time then I struggle
F4-
Sa akoa pod maam naa kaisa nasamad sa P.E time so need jud namo tawagan ang
parents.
to face class unlike sa online or modular nga nay parents magbantay sa ilaha.
T–
In my case, one of them was injured during P.E time so we need to call the parents.
In short, you should be responsible for the actions of the students in the face to face
class, unlike in the online or modular class, parents should watch over them.
F5-
Tama jud di malikayan nay accident na ginagmay maong dapat as teacher bantayan
jud nimo ang bata kai walai parents magtan aw nila.
T–
It's true that accidents caused by children cannot be avoided, so as a teacher, you
should watch over the children because there are no parents watching them.
F6-
basi nabag uhan padaw or mahadlok pa making socialize.
T–
In my experience, I onced asked the child and then he suddenly started crying,
maybe he is not used to face to face class yet, he didn't come back on the following
day, The parents didn't force him.
F7-
ng karun gina hinay2 namo sila ug tudlo how to resect teachers jud kai ang uban
gikan kinder module tas karun ran aka f2f.
T–
As for me, other students don't greet anymore, like don’t know you, that's why we
teach them how to resect teachers.
1.4 What are the barriers you have encountered when teaching from online to
F1-
Sa akoa as naga tudlo math like basic add ug subtract maglisud pa so balik
T–
For me, who has been taught math, like basic add and subtract, they still find
it difficult. So we have to teach them again, you can't proceed to the next
complicated topic.
F2-
T–
In my opinion, they haven't socialized with their classmates yet, but they were
F3-
Uban pod students’ kai d kabalo musulat tas ang uban wala natun an like
T–
Some students don't know how to write, and some don't even know their own
names.
F4-
T–
To me, there’s are a lot of reports that sometimes I can't get to class, but we
F5-
Sa akoa pod like 40-50 students in one class so mag lisud jud ko ato dati
katung pagsugud like sa classroom management dghan bata dili nmo dati
T–
For me, there are like 40-50 students in one class, so it was difficult for me to
start like in classroom management when there are many stubborn children
F6-
Tas naa poi uban students lack of interest jud while ga discuss ang uban sige
T–
There is a lack of interest among some students, and while the others are
discussing they also talk. But there are also who are willing to learn while you
are talking.
F7-
Sa akoa is ang ilang attitude kai ang uban perte jud kakiat like mag papansin
T–
To me, it's their attitude. The other student is very noisy. like disturbing other
classmates who would like to listen. You need to educate them properly so
that they can focus. You must have rules in the class.
1.5 What problems you have observed on your students who experience from
F1-
class.
T–
As for me, they are still new to face-to-face and are used to modular and
online classes.
F2-
T–
F3-
Sa akoa ang uban like muhilak if biyaan ug mama maong ang uban mag
atang sa gawas ang parents katong first week or months naa jui in ana nako
na students.
T–
To me, other students like to cry if mom leaves them. that's why the parents
F4-
T–
In my class there are students like that mainly because this is the first time
F5-
Sa akoa jud kai kanang sa reading nila like sounds or even mag basa sa letra
T–
For me, when they read like sounds or even read the letter they can’t perform
it even letter a or b.
F6-
In my room naa poi uban students na kusug mang bully so tendency na nay
T–
In my room, there are other students who are bullies, so the tendency is there
F7-
classmates like walai siyay friends ug d nmo tinggan ug una di pod siya mu
istorya nimo like Ulawun kaau na bata usahay d pod mag participates sa
klase.
T–
In my room there are students who don't like to socialize with their
classmates. like they don't have friends. if you don't talk to them and then
they don't talk to you then they will not participate in the class class.
2. What are the coping strategies of teachers in the new normal set up from
F1-
Sa akoa students nag start jud kog basic reading sa ilaha like letter sounds
T–
With my students, I started basic reading with them like letter sounds,
F2-
T–
I also prepare activities that are engaging so that they can mingle with some
of their classmates.
F3-
In my part naga prepare pod kog kanang mga exercise or motivation ba para
T–
In my part, I have prepared the right exercises or motivation so that they will
F4-
T–
As for me, I play educational videos like related with letters and numbers, I
F5-
T–
For me, since the class started, I have lowered my standards to them
because many of them had a hard time adjusting from the current face-to-
F6-
In my part gina ask jud nako privately ang student na tan aw nako lack of
knowledge jud kanang d pod sila maulawan like isturyahon sila after klase or
T–
In my part, I ask the student privately that I see a lack of knowledge, that they
can't be shamed like talking to them after class or lunch break because some
F7-
For sure dakog kalahian so dapat mag explore mi sa transition sa uban . So one way
namo kai nagapangutana mi sa amo co teachers. Like makigtalk sa tapad classroom
ug mga way paano mag handle ug mga certain pproblems ug unsa nila paghandle
para ma apply pod nako.
T–
For sure there are many differences so we should explore the transition. So, one
way for us is to ask our fellow teachers. Like talk to the next classroom about ways
to handle certain problems and how to handle them so that I can apply when I
encounter it.
2.1 How do you handle problems in face-to-face learning?
F1-
T–
As for me, I don't want to deal with the problem because it can be stressful
F2- For me I ask to my co teachers ug unsa ilaha ginabuhat para maka idea
T–
For me, I ask my co teachers what they are doing so that I can get an idea so
F3-
man jud problem naa solution so think ositive lang jud ta.
T–
If there's a problem that needs to be solved, it won't take long, every problem
F4- Sa akoa if nay problem then naga create mig rules sila ako ginapa
decide if himoon nilag usab like mag kiat sila ako pabut on unsay himoon like
T–
For me, if there is a problem then we create rules. I ask them to decide what
the consequences would be if they did it too. like if they do something wrong,
I'm going to have a consequence, like parents should be called to make them
aware.
F4-
For me ginasolve nako siya privately with the student dili nako siya
pakaulawan like in front of the class nako siya sermonan kai basig d nana
T–
For me, I solve it privately with the student, I don't embarrass him, like I
scolded him in front of the class, because it might result in not coming in to
F5-
Same akoa kai maam like naga gather kog mga strategies nila ug how they
T–
It's the same with me, ma’am, I like to gather their strategies with them and
how they solve problems related to me so that it will be easy for me.
F6-
T–
In addition, if there are problems in the room, I open it in our meeting so that
F7-
room.
T–
That's right, when the parents get home, they will teach the child what is right.
so that they can change their action when they are in the class.
2.2 What are the measures you have done to eliminate the barriers
F1-
We need to follow MELC guide Most Essential Learning Competencies. Lisod kayo
sige tudlo higher concept sa math tapos di pa diay kabalo mag add ug subtract so
bact to basic jud mi so dapat patience namo kai taasan. Di pod pwede soft ka pirmi
like but an ka perme kai d man ka paminawon pod sa bata dapat naa japon sila e
respect nimo.
T–
We need to follow MELC guide Most Essential Learning Competencies. It's hard for
us to teach higher concepts in math if they don't even know how to add and subtract
yet, so we stick to basic, so we have to increase our patience. You must have to
teach with authority in order to made them respect you.
F2-
Naga back to basic jud ko kai dghan bata na back to zero pod ang learnings.
T–
I teached them basic because many children their learnings are going back
to zero.
F3-
T–
I prepared activities that they will learn and also they are moving so that they
F4-
ginaask unsay problem para if naa man galing problem sa iya school like
malate so dili nako siya mayawyawan daun kai kabalo naman kos kahimtang
niya.
T–
If there are students who will not socializing with others, I will talk to them and
ask what is their problem, so that I can give advice and also I will be able to
understand them like why that they are late when entering in my class.
F5-
Tama jud maam kai naa uban bata kasab an ra nato daun not knowing na
T–
I agree, because sometimes we scolded them not knowing that they have
F6-
T–
For me, we have a group chat with the student's parents so that if there is a
problem, I can open it up with the parents so that they are aware of it
immediately.
F7-
nganu gibuhat nila kai para sunod makabalo na sila na mali diay like naa man
T–
For me , before I scolded them I will ask what is the problem why they do that . so
that they become aware next time. Some children are very naughty, sometimes they
have done wrong to their classmates. So that I will guide them what is right or wrong
to do.
2.3 How important is the student’s feedback in this new normal set up?
F1-
Sa akoa dako jud na part kai dira namo makita if nakasabot bajud sila maong
everytime after sa lesson naga ask jud ug nakasabot ba tapos naga quiz
daun mi after.
T–
For me it is very important, because that’s the time iwhat we can know if they
understand what I am teaching to them. Like after the discussion I will gave
Agree ko ana maam kai basi sige ratag tudlo tas wala diay nasulod sa
ilahang utok.
I agree, Yes we teach but we are not sure if they understand it.
F3-
Importante jud kaina maam kai ang among quality as teacher ma mirror sa ila
ug unsa ila performance meaning produkto nas among pag tudlo maong
T–
It is very important, because they are our product if how knowdgeable they
appropriately.
F4-
Dira namo makita maam sa ila feedback ug ipadaun pa ba namo among way
of teaching or lahi napod na strategies na makasabut jud sila pag ayo pa.
T–
In their feedbacks we can see if will continue our way of teaching or we will
F5-
sige mi tudlo niya sila wala diay nasabtan so need namo feedback nila sa
amoa.
T–
That’s one factor so that we can know if we are a quality teacher. Yes we
teach but we are not sure if they understand it so we need their feedbacks.
F6-
Need jud kaau namo ila feedback sir, I agree with them . Feedback from your
students allows you to know what you are doing that facilitates learning but,
also what adjustments that need to be made. Even minor changes in the
T–
We need their feedback sir, I agree with them. Feedback from your students
allows you to know what you are doing that facilitates learning but, also what
adjustments that need to be made. Even minor changes in the classroom can
F7-
Tama jud, kai sila man among target para pod ma improve me as a teacher
kai d mna mi mag grow as a teacher kung wala mi kabalo ug tama paba or
They are our targets and also for us to become a better teacher too. Because
we will not able to know if we are still good in teaching if the way we teach is
2.4 What are the new strategies in teaching that you learn in new normal?
F1-
Interactive games jud ako one way sir like dghan man makita sa youtube.
T–
I use interactive games, there are many on youtube that you can download.
F2-
Sa akoa kai , powerpoints jud since na and nako ana atong online class mao gi
bata.
T–
For me I use powerpoints, since some students are doing it last pandemic. So we t
still using it but I will not put so many words on it because they find it boring.
F3-
Im using collaboration, its important maka interact sila sa uban para pod
makapromote ug leadership.
T–
Im using collaboration, its important ao that they can interact with others also it can
promote leadership. Then they can share ideas with their classmates.
F4-
Im using jud ang technology like application games. Since pandemic expose sila sa
technology.
T–
Im using technology like application games. Since pandemic they are expose on
technology. And I adapt it on my class like making PowerPoints during their reporting
so they can explore.
F5-
classmates.
T–
In my class I prepare group activities so that they can socialize with their classmates.
F6-
Akoa if nay lessons like solving ginahatagan jud nako na silage dghan na examples
to solve para maenad sila kai syempre practice makes perfect baya jud.
T–
In my class, If there are lessons like solving, I give them a lot of examples to solve so
that they get used to it, of course I believe in saying that practice makes perfect.
F7-
Use of technology jud ako sir like even naas balai makahimo sila like mga
application na didto sila mag answer or kanang naa kai ipaplai na short videos na
dapat dili boring like math videos or alphabeticals ba.
T–
Use of technology sir, like even they are in their house they can still make it. Then
by also playing videos that are not boring like videos for letters or numbers.
2.5 How do you address classroom management issues in the new education
setting?
F1-
T–
In my case, before I set up classroom management, we will have a meeting about it.
F2-
Tama, kai para aware pod sila ug unsay consequence if naa silai mali na mabuhat.
T–
I agree, so that they are aware what is the consequences if they make a mistakes.
F3-
Naa jud mi gina himo or mga ques like if naa koi sinyas makasabot na sila like if nay
bisita muingun rakog face to the front don’t talk to your seatmate ilaha jud na ma
T–
We have ques like if there are visitors they will not talk to their classmates in our
class and after that if they follow what rules or our agreement, I will give them a
reward after.
F4-
In term sa cleanliness sa amoa room naga set jud mig by schedule or by group
T–
the room.
F5-
In my part nagahatag kog rewards like if naa koi bisita tas dapat ilang attitude in ani
in ana like dapat mag behave walai tabi then if successful nila na mabuhat nan aa
T–
In my part I will give them a rewards if they are behave when there was a visitor . So
In addition gina practice namo na malikayan jud dapat ang pag bully like if mamali ug
mag answers.
T–
their answers positively so that they are not afraid to answer again during the
recitation.
F7-
I agree jud maam kai ang uban ma wad an ug confidence once na feel nila mali sila
I agree because some students lose their confidence once they feel that they are
3. What are the insights of teachers in new normal set-up from modular to face-to-
face learning?
F1-
In our case stage 1, we handle one section, 40 students, 8 subjects a day. Compare
to teaching modalities gamay ran ga ora Unlike karn whole day jud siya. Grabe ang
adjustment limited lang sa online class but dapat ma catch up namo sa learning
competency based. We need to follow MELC guide Most Essential Learning
Competencies.
T–
In our case stage 1, we handle one section, 40 students, 8 subjects a day. Compare
to teaching modalities we ran out of time, unlike now that the class was 8 hours. It’s
a challenge fo us to adjust on the online class but we still have to catch up the
learning competency based. We need to follow MELC guide Most Essential Learning
Competencies.
F2-
Oo mao jud, Lisod kayo sige tudlo higher concept sa math tapos di pa diay kabalo
mag add ug subtract so bact to basic jud mi so dapat patience namo kai taasan. Di
pod pwede soft ka pirmi like butan ka perme kai d man ka paminawon pod sa bata
dapat naa japon silai respect nimo.
T–
That’s true, its hard to teach higher concept in math then they don’t know the basics
so we must be patience. But make sure that they don't lose respect for you.
F3-
For sure dakog kalahian so dapat mag explore mi sa transition sa uban . So one way
namo kai nagapangutana mi sa amo co teachers. Like makigtalk sa tapad classroom
ug mga way paano mag handle ug mga certain pproblems ug unsa nila paghandle
para ma apply pod nako.
T–
There is a big difference. So you must have to gather strategies to your co teachers.
Like talking to the teacher next to my classroom on how they handle problems so
that I can apply it to my class also.
F4-
Face-to-face gives genuine learning. Kai naa ang teacher mag guide so kami one
way kai amo jud ginahands on isa2 . activities na makagain ug camaraderie kai mag
engage man sila sa mga classmates nila.
T–
Face-to-face gives genuine learning. The teacher is there to guide so as a teacher
we teach them one on one if we have a free time. Then giving activities that can
build their camaraderie because they engage to each other.
