ACID STIMULATION PROGRAM
03rd OCTOBER 2022

OBJECTIVE : Conduct Acid stimulation job to remove formation


damage and improve well productivity.

CURRENT STATUS : Well is currently producing water ~64 BOPD, 0.02


MMscfd and 758 BWPD against FWHP of 170 psi on
Jet Pump (10-Oct-2022).

WELL TRAJECTORY : Deviated (Deviation survey attached)

EXISTING PERFS : B Sand Bottom Lobe interval 9,132’ – 9,142’ KB,


9,116’ – 9,126’ KB and 9,054’ – 9,084’ KB

PRE - JOB REQUIREMENTS:

a) Ensure access to wellsite is available for Heavy vehicles.

b) Ensure clear is free of water to monitor surface & production casing pressure.

c) Arrange 2-9/16” 5K WECO connection for production casing side outlet.

d) Conduct X-mas tree valves integrity test & grease all valves.

e) Install calibrated pressure recorder to the wellhead to record WHP during the
entire job.

f) Review the job procedure and attached well bore diagram with operators prior
to starting the job.

g) Arrange Scaffolding

h) Arrange & hook-up contractor low torque valve with Flow Tee-block side outlet
gate valve connected to 5K choke manifold, flow diverter with 2-7/8” line to lined
pit.

f) Install 2-7/8” drain line from Surface reservoir vessel to line pit.

g) Pressure test lines to lined pit at 200/600 psi for 5/10 mins each.

i) Ensure lined mud pit & fence behind pit are covered with GI sheets to avoid
spraying of nitrified returns.

j) Update landowner about job mist hazards.

k) Arrange UEP & Sprint CTU explosion proof flood lights with generators for the
job.

l) Ensure lined mud pits are empty and free of stagnant rainwater.

m) Submit CRF for road repairs due to rainfall to overcome access issues for tons
Vacuum truck, Crane, CT Unit & Slickline unit mobilization & demobilization

n) Arrange vacuum truck with facility brine for re-commissioning the well.

OPERATIONAL/SAFETY NOTES:

a) Conduct Task Risk Assessment for all activities required to complete the job
safely.

b) All required permits as per UEPL Permit to Work procedure should be


issued/obtained with continuous monitoring of ongoing work by UEPL wellsite
supervisor.

c) Assess sledgehammer use Hazards with left- and right-hand craftsman to


determine line of fire

d) Conduct HSE/coordination meeting with all groups involved before starting the
job. HSE meeting should address all issues with strong emphasis on possible
scenarios and proper action required by personnel present at the wellsite. It
should be made clear to everyone that they have an obligation to stop any
unsafe work.

e) Do not allow vehicles to drive over loose tubing.

f) Discuss & ensure all involved are aware of sledgehammer handling hazards
with left- & right-handed worker tool handling hazards & all keep away from line
of fire.

g) All pumping lines, Chiksans, line to lined pit should be secured with secondary
restraints.

h) Caliper all tools before running in hole.

i) Designate a safe muster area.

j) Cardon off work areas with caution tape.

k) All non-essential personnel should remain outside the location during the job.

l) Check wind direction and post road guards.

m) The pump truck and the tank containing treatment mixture should be spotted in
favorable wind direction and as far away as possible from the wellhead.

n) Fire extinguishers should be placed at all the locations with possible fire risk.

o) Ensure Quad BOP Blind, Shear & Slip Rams to be in good working condition.

p) Verify CT pipe remaining life & last 10 job history.

q) Arrange Eye was station, Safety shower & first aid box.

r) Ensure that all vehicles used during the WellWork activities are properly
secured (chocks in place behind wheels, manual hand-brake set and
transmission locked into neutral) to avoid any unexpected movement of
vehicles during operation.

s) Use fixed platform (scaffolding) with guardrail and/or fall arrest system, as per
UEPL “Working at Height” procedure, for safe working at height conditions.

t) Two sets of acid handling and N2 handling PPE available on location.

u) Place HP & Hazardous material warning sign near Acid storage tanks & around
the working area.

v) Sufficient Soda Ash available on location to neutralize the spilled acid.

w) Chemical & acid MSDS hard copy should be available on location & discussed
with all involved in job & clear explanation to handle, first aid, storage & fire
control.

x) Nearby hospital for acid burn treatment should be known to all in coordination
with UEP field doctor.

y) Ground choke manifold, CTU unit, Pumping unit & chemical/acid storage tanks.

z) Do not place any flammable fluids in pump unit displacement tanks.

aa) Leaks of cryogenic liquids onto unprotected steel decks or other structural
members may result in brittle fracturing. Mitigating actions shall be taken to
prevent this potential.

bb) Insufficient oxygen and high concentrations of Nitrogen can cause asphyxiation
& death. There are no physiological warning signs to nitrogen enrichment.
Personnel should be aware of this risk when working with nitrogen in enclosed
spaces.

cc) Nitrogen - cryogenic gasses have the capacity to inflict serious frost bite and/or
asphyxiation. Correct PPE shall be worn when handling cryogenic gasses.

dd) Ensure equipment spacing as per UEPL practice.

ee) Barricade area for unauthorized entry around CTU fleet & acid tanker.

ff) Do not enter cellar without approval and CSE

gg) CHECK CT REEL HYDRAULIC SWIVEL 3RD PARTY CERTIFICATION.

hh) PCE and equipment rig up and rig down to be supervised by WWT engineer
and service company supervisor.

ii) Inspect slickline unit & CTU fleet as per WWT pre-job checklist.

jj) Follow COVID-19 safety protocol during the job.

kk) Upon completion or suspension of work, the wellsite should be left in a safe and

secured condition with acid neutralized in all water pits.

FLUID DESIGN AND COMPOSITION:

Nitrogen: 6,000 gallons:

Fresh water: 500 bbls

PROCEDURE

1. MIRU Schlumberger 5K slickline.

2. Shut down the surface triplex pump.

3. Conduct joint hazard hunt session.

4. Pressure test PCE against SIWHP for 10 mins.

5. Start surface triplex pump on reverse circulation and circulate out the jet pump.

NOTES:
 If required, RIH with 2” JDC pulling tool, latch and POOH jet pump.
 Closely monitor annuli pressure (surface casing) during reverse
circulation. Immediately record and report any abnormality if
observed.
 Inspect downhole JP internals and report accordingly.

6. RIH with knock out bar and break the equalizing plugs on the standing valve &
POOH.

7. RIH with PRGS-pulling tool and latch the standing valve.

8. POOH with standing valve.

9. RIH with 2.2” gauge cutter to depth 9,779’ KB & POOH.

NOTES:
 Last tagged depth is at 9,779’ KB on 10-June-2022.
 Record the fluid level tagged during the gauge cutter run.

10. Nipple down WHCA.

11. Rig down and demobilize Schlumberger slickline equipment.

COIL TUBING JOB


12. MIRU Sprint 10K coiled tubing unit, N2 equipment and pump truck unit.

13. Rig up 400 hp fluid pump with production casing 2-1/16” 5K outlet gate valve.

14. Pressure test pumping line against production casing outlet valve at 500/2000
psi for 5 mins each.

15. Rig up flanged Tee-block with low torque valve above UMV and hook up return
line with CNLC 5K choke manifold.

16. Function tests all BOP rams.

17. R/U pumping lines with Quad BOP kill port, CT reel swivel & N2 pumping unit.

18. Pressure test pumping lines to CT reel swivel & N2 pumping unit at 500/6,500
psi for 5/10 mins.

19. Pressure test pumping line to Quad BOP kill port at 500/6,500 psi for 5/10
mins each.

20. Pressure test Quad BOP & Tee block above UMV at 500/4,500 psi for 5/10
mins each.

21. Pressure test LTV, flow back lines and choke manifold at 200/4,500 psi for
5/10 mins each.

22. Stab coiled tubing pipe into injector head and make-up 1.5” coiled tubing roll-on
connector.

23. Pull test the connector to at least 10,000 Ibf.

24. Pressure test CT reel swivel at 1,000/6,500 psi for 5/10 mins each.

25. Pressure test CT pipe & CT connector at 1,000/6,000 psi for 5/10 mins each.

NOTES:
 Check connector crimping for slippage & signs of distortion.
 CTU & WWT supervisor will witness CT connector making & integrity
test.

26. Pickle CT with 5 bbl of 7% HCL, flush and drift coiled tubing string with brine
and drift a ball of maximum size at surface to confirm the capacity of coiled
tubing and integrity of BHA.

NOTE:
 Ensure sufficient Soda ash is available on location for complete Acid
Stimulation Job

27. Make-up rest of coiled tubing BHA below the coil connector, consisting of MHA
(DFCV, Hydraulic disconnect) and 1.75” jetting nozzle.

NOTE:
 Ensure BHA length is 5ft
 Record BHA dimensions (lengths, OD’s, ID’s, etc.) and BHA diagrams
available in the control cabin and also the surface measurements so
that tool depths can be correlated.

28. Function test BHA at 1.2 bpm at maximum pumping pressure.

29. Stab injector head above BOP stack, pressure test stripper to 300/5,000 psi for
5/10 mins each.

30. Pressure tests the dual check valves against a differential pressure of 1,000
psi.

31. RIH with CT at a speed of 20-30 ft/min for first 500 ft and then increase speed
to 50-60 ft/min with well lined up into the offloading setup while break
circulation at with facility brine at minimum rate.

NOTES:
 Correlate depth prior to RIH, such that depth measurements of
mechanical depth counter, depth encoder and UTLM are noted down.
 Perform pull test every 1,000 ft and record pick up & slack off weight
while RIH.
 Slow down near restrictions.
 Record CT and CT-Tbg annulus pressure during the entire job.
 As CT exits EOT, slow down to 40 – 50 ft/min until CT reaches top of
perforations.
 Do not allow WHP to increase above 3000 psi & production casing
above 1000 psi during the job.
 Monitor surface casing pressure continuously during the job & do
not allow to increase above 300 psi.

 Slow down CT Speed while crossing JP cavity.
 Carefully monitor CT weight at restrictions and depths mentioned

36. Station CT at +/-9,000’ KB & and continue Nitrogen Kick-off at 300-350 scfm
until the fluid is neutralized at pH of 4 or more.
NOTES:
 Continuously pump facility brine into TbgxCsg annulus at 0.1-0.2
BPM.
 Adjust N2 pumping rate and CT depth as per fluid returns at surface
 Continuously monitor WHP and returns at the surface
 Maintain nitrogen pressure in the CT after pumping is stopped to
avoid any risk of CT collapse
 Pump 5 bbl batches of CO2/H2S inhibitor based on returns to surface
 Neutralize spent acid in lined pit with Soda ash.

37. POOH when return fluid neutralizes to pH 4.


 
38. Dump 20 or more 50 lbs soda ash bags to neutralize acid inside lined pit.

39. R/D and demobilize CT unit and Equipment.

40. MIRU Schlumberger 5K slickline unit & PCE.

41. Conduct joint hazard hunt session.

42. Pressure test PCE against SIWHP for 10 mins.

43. Pump 10 bbls of power fluid into the tubing.

44. Drift wellbore with 2.347” gauge cutter, tag top of Jet pump cavity & POOH.

45. Drift wellbore with 2.22” gauge cutter till 9000’KB & POOH.

46. Soft set redressed standing valve with PRGS in Jet pump cavity & POOH.

NOTES:
 INSPECT STANDING VALVE GS NECK INTEGRITY FOR GALLED
EDGES AND NO-GO OD. RECORD AND REPORT OBSERVATION.
 Soft set standing valve if liquid level is below 4000’.

47. Drop & seat redressed Type-H jet pump with new 11-A Nozzle-Throat
combination using normal circulation.

 If required, chase the jet pump with 2” blind box to seat it in the jet
pump cavity at 8,720’ KB.

48. R/D & demobilize slickline unit.

49. Handover the well to operations team to commission the well and produce the
well into the line pit till pH increases to 5.5.

50. Grease X-mas tree & production casing side outlet gate valve.

51. Divert well to flowline & test for 3 days consecutively on optimized surface jet
pump parameters.
