FIELD HYDROTESTING OF POTABLE WATER LINE FROM TP-08 TO
EPC-2 CAMP IN RAS LAFFAN

With reference to your transmittal no. NFXP-RLIC-QGC-RLC-TML-00793 dated 8th December 2022.
QatarEnergy has reviewed the field hydrotest package and have the following comments.

1. QatarEnergy notes that QG/Contractor would like to carry out hydrostatic testing of the 10” HDPE
potable water pipeline extension from TP-08 tie-in point up to EPC-2 Camp fence (underground
section) at 16.25barg pressure and the holding time is 1hr as stated in the method statement, which
is not in line with QCS 2014.

2. Similarly, hydrotesting for the proposed metering station above ground Carbon Steel piping at
16.25barg and holding time 1hr, which is also not in line with ASME B31.3.

3. Hydrostatic testing of pipeline shall follow the applicable code requirements. Please revise the
document to include applicable code, test pressure, holding time, pressurization chart etc.

4. The test boundaries / maximum length of pipeline section is not indicated in the drawings. Please
clearly defined the test boundaries.

5. Please note that details of source of water, quantity of water, reuse of water stretch wise, chemicals if
any used, disposal location and acceptance criteria need to be mentioned in the Method Statement.

6. Please note that the water after hydro testing & flushing shall be disposed-off at designated locations
as per RLC Environmental regulations. In this regard, please liaise with Mr. K. Ramadorai,
Environment Engineer, Tel. 4014 7629 for necessary guidance. Signed copy of agreed location for
discharge of water and method of disposal shall be attached with submission.

Please comply and incorporate the above comments and resubmit the method statement, hydrotest packs
/ procedure for our review and approval.
