BASIC RESCUE PLAN

Description of the job:

For truss work and roofing work as mentioned below:

b. Alignment and level of foundations and correctness of foundation bolt center shall be inspected before
starting of column/frame erection
c. Proper and approved scaffolding shall be used during erection of steel structures or any roof works
access.
d. Both movable and fixed scaffoldings will be used as for requirement.
e. Scaffolding of height 2m will be used for truss installation and of 3m will be used for purlin and
sandwich panel installation.
f. One truss system as two parts. Two parts will be joined on the ground and then will be lifted by crane to
fix on the container roof.
g. Columns shall be anchored by a minimum of four anchor bolts
h. Columns shall be set on level, finished floors, pre-grouted levelling plates, levelling nuts or shim packs,
which are adequate to transfer the loads.
i. Tag lines, which are purposed to control material movement during lifting, shall be attached on
appropriate downside of column before erection
j. Lifting plan, which includes the crane position, working radius, swing direction shall be closely studied
and developed prior to erection of column
k. The turn of nut method has usually used in tightening the anchor bolts.
l. Anchor bolts shall be fully tightened to the specified tension only after base plate has been grouted.

Description of rescue plan

Definitions associated with the works involving working at heights: -

 Personal Restraint Systems are designed to restrain movement so that a fall is not possible.
The system must have the capacity to withstand at least 1,361 kg, or twice the maximum
expected force that is needed to restrain the person from exposure to the fall hazard. In
determining this force, consideration will be given to site-specific factors such as, but not
limited to, the force generated by a person walking, leaning or even sliding down a steep roof.
 Yoyo system are designed to provide points of attachment with crane hook for fall protection
lanyards and harnesses. It provides vertically fall protection for personnel working in elevated
areas.

 Fall arrest system A personal fall protection system which uses a body holding device
connected to a reliable anchor to arrest and restricts a fall so as to prevent the collision of the
user with the ground or structure whilst limiting the forces on the body.

 Full Body Safety Harness.


 Stair Case.

Circumstances Requiring Rescue from Height

The following table summarizes the activities during which persons may require rescue from height, the persons
who may require rescue and the types of emergencies that may precipitate the need for rescue.

Suspension from a fall protection system


All personnel entering areas where personal fall protection measures are required should be trained and
experienced. To prevent suspension trauma, an employee shall use suspension trauma stirrups / leg straps

Injury
All personnel working on a truss and roof works should have adequate training and experience and be working
to an agreed method statement.

Medical emergency
All personnel working on roof works should will be subjected to health surveillance to identify signs or symptoms
that might lead to medical problems.

Personal Falling hazard while using YOYO system and personnel full body harness with designated
anchoring point for moving on the container roof.
All personnel subject for working at heights shall have attended working at heights training and be competent &
experience in the relevant task at heights. Personal fall arrest system is to be worn all the time. Use of buddy
system is must for all working at heights jobs.

Recovery from emergency cases during working at heights for roof works: -
IP shall be rescued through the available nearest access provided in the scaffold or stair case platform during
minor cases and RLIC rescue team will be activated through JOC in case of major emergencies
