Why Only Good People Make Good Decisions

In virtue ethics, it is stated that only good people are the ones who can make good
decisions. Personally, I agree with this view of virtue ethics. However, it also raises a question
about those people regarded as "bad". Does it mean that being bad blocks a person from
making sound moral judgments in life?

First, let us know if these are good people and what are good decisions. Good people
are those who know the right thing to do in a certain situation. Applying my learning from virtue
ethics, we can refer to these people as virtuous ones. That is the first reason why I agree with
the statement: I firmly believe that those who live with virtue have a deeper understanding of
what actions will be beneficial and acceptable to people. Those actions are referred to as "good
decisions."

Additionally, I believe that good individuals make excellent judgments because they
strive to be virtuous. They have great life values that guide them to determine the best course of
action. For example, let us imagine if who will probably return a lost wallet between an honest
person and those who frequently commit immoral acts. In this scenario, the appropriate action is
to return the wallet, which is most likely done by the person who understands what is right,
which is the person who values honesty in life. As a result, we may conclude that good people
make good judgments.

However, I do not push the idea that bad people can never make good decisions
anymore. For me, they still can, but first they must learn what a good individual is and aim to be
one. It is because how can one make good decisions if he has a negative outlook on things? I
believe that for us to take good actions, we must first learn them. In the case of bad people, they
should look at those virtuous people and follow their path. Once they transform themselves into
better ones, they will be able to make good decisions.

A good human being is shaped by his life principles. I believe that virtues will lead us to
be better individuals. The one who has the ability to make sound decisions in life. Again, we
must understand that a bad person will not always be bad. One can select their own direction in
life. If you want to be able to make appropriate judgments, you need to first learn how to be a
good person. We can all grow to be virtuous. Therefore, we must commit to improving
ourselves.
