The definition of management is the administration of an organization, whether it is a business, a not-

for-profit organization, or a government body. Management includes the activities of setting the
strategy of an organization and coordinating the efforts of its employees or of volunteers, to accomplish
its objectives through the application of available resources, such as financial, natural, technological, and
human resources. The term "management" may also refer to those people who manage an
organization. Based on what I understand about this definition of management is one of managing
related to the organization discipline it means whether it is a government body or not government body.
while for school management, it is a different thing because this management is not only managing the
organization discipline but it also manages all terms in the school such as manage the student,
classroom, student organization and also manage student achievement.

The definition of leadership is the leader as a captain in a group which is s he or he manage all member
in the group. Besides that, leaders also individuals who can influence other people in an organization.
The term school leadership came into existence in the late 20th century for several reasons. Demands
were made on schools for higher levels of pupil achievement, and schools were expected to improve
and reform. These expectations were accompanied by calls for accountability at the school level.
Maintenance of the status quo was no longer considered acceptable. Administration and management
are terms that connote stability through the exercise of control and supervision. The concept of
leadership was favored because it conveys dynamism and pro-activity. The principal or school head is
commonly thought to be the school leader; however, school leadership may include other persons, such
as members of a formal leadership team and other persons who contribute toward the aims of the
school.

In my opinion, school management and leadership in Malaysia have two meaning the first one is the
principal as a leader in school and the second is the student as a leader in school. This is because, this
two as a leader at school who is managing all of the discipline problems and student behavior. The
principal is a person at the school who supports and ensures that school matters well. Good quality of
leadership is essential for managing and administering schools for the sake of producing good quality of
students in the future. Principal as leaders must have a leadership style that is creative, productive, and
courageous to bring about future changes in students. In addition, principles should guide and strive to
bring school achievement to a greater level. Then, the principal also needs to care about the relationship
between the other part of leadership, to get the teamwork from other teachers and all people at school.
this is because, when the relationship between the principal, teacher, and student in a good condition, it
will be easy to do the work and also can increases the motivate the teacher to teach students. Based on
what I understand about the principal as a leader is principal it is not only who are manage the school
but she/he also needs to show how can she/he work as a leader at the school. For example, the principal
can show her or his nature how to become a good leader through a good school system managing.

Every student appointed as a leader holds a great deal of trust to guide their peers to practice positive
values in their daily lives both inside and outside of school. Beside, we are aware of the role of school
prefects and class leader as we have all been through school. We can see and evaluate the work of
student leaders in schools but in our day to go to developed countries it is important to review the role
of pupils in schools. This aims to make the student's level of discipline comparable to that of other
developed countries so that the National Philosophy of Education can be achieved successfully.
According to the National Philosophy of Education, "Education in Malaysia is a continuous effort towards
furthering the potential of the individual as a whole and integrating to create an intellectually,
spiritually, emotionally and physically balanced people. is morally responsible, responsible, skilled and
capable of achieving personal well-being and contributes to the harmony and prosperity of family,
community, and nation ". The role of the prefect's body is significant within the organization of the
prefect's body itself as well as the school. The primary role of the prefect's body is the responsibility of
the school. The governing body must implement the rules and regulations of the school. The school's
disciplinary body has established rules and regulations that can and cannot be enforced; the prefect's
body is acting as the eyes and ears of the teachers to ensure that all pupils follow the rules set. For
example, students eat and drink in class. Under the rules, students are not allowed to be in class during
breaks but some students are eating and drinking in class. Prefects need to reprimand and prohibit
students from doing so. If necessary, the student should notify the teacher for further action. Besides,
the role of the governing body is to maintain the good name of the school. As a good leader, it is the
responsibility of the superintendent to maintain the good name of the school so that the public does not
look to the school institution. In addition, the governing body needs to maintain the school's climate.
School climate influences the development of students with controlled, calm and orderly schools.
Therefore, the prefect's body should help teachers maintain the school climate. So as we know prefects
is the Leader in the school where they are controlling and help the teacher in manage student behavior.

In conclusion, an effective leader should have certain qualities such as intelligence, honesty, and
integrity, leadership drive, self-confidence, passion, knowledge in the field, creativity, and flexibility.
Effective leaders have excellent behavior.
