Task 1: Write a review on the practical use of Probability and Statistics in today’s
World.

Ans:
We've all heard that we now live in the Information Age, in which we know a lot about the
world. Using statistics and probability, a lot of this information was calculated
mathematically. When used appropriately, these can reveal past trends and help anticipate
what may occur in the future.
Statistics helps in providing a better understanding and exact description of a phenomenon of
nature. Statistics helps in the proper and efficient planning of a statistical inquiry in any field
of study. Statistics helps in collecting appropriate quantitative data. Statistics helps in
presenting complex data in a suitable tabular, diagrammatic and graphic form for easy and
clear comprehension of the data. Statistics helps in understanding the nature and pattern of
variability of a phenomenon through quantitative observations. Statistics helps in drawing
valid inferences, along with a measure of their reliability about the population parameters
from the sample data. Probability has something to do with a chance. It is the study of things
that might happen or might not. We use it most of the time, usually without thinking of it. We
don’t perform actual probability problems in our daily life but use subjective probability to
determine the course of action or any judgment. Everything from the weather forecasting to
our chance of dying in an accident is a probability.

When we have multiple possibilities to pick from and just one has a higher likelihood,
making decisions is simple. Even if no one can change his or her chances, anyone can
anticipate which option is more likely to occur than the others. Probability is all around us,
and it has an impact on our daily lives. We must not overlook the importance of studying
minor probabilities; they may appear insignificant, but failing to do so may result in the loss
of a good ending.
The government uses statistics to make decisions about populations, health, education, etc. It
may conduct research on education to check the progress of high schools students using a
specific curriculum or collect characteristic information about the population using a census
and use probability to predict the fitness level in those individuals .The medical field would
be far less effective without research to see which medicines or interventions work best and
how the human bodies react to treatment. Medical professionals also perform studies by race,
age, or nationality to see the effect of these characteristics on health.
Although this is attached to both the science and medical field, success in psychology would
be impossible without the systematic study of human behavior, often analyzing results
statistically and with probability.Teachers are encouraged to be researchers in their
classrooms, to see what teaching methods work on which students and understand why. They
also should evaluate test items to determine if students are performing in a statistically
expected way and tp predict the probability of their knowledge and learning outcome. At all
levels of education and testing there are statistical reports about student performance, from
kindergarten to an SAT or GRE. Every large company employs its own statistical research
divisions or firms to research issues related to products, employees, customer service, etc.
Business success relies on the probability of knowing what is working and what isn't.
Probability plays a vital role in  buying or selling insurance, online shopping, and online
games, determining blood groups, and analyzing political strategies.

In the 21st century, more data are collected about our daily life than ever before. As
computers become more powerful, we can easily analyze and interpret ever larger datasets.
Statistical analysis along with probability is becoming increasing important in many research
fields, allowing us to fully understand and disseminate ideas not just to our peers, but to the
wider population.
