1. Hardware

1.1. Receipt Printer

According to Toast (2021), nowadays

thermal or receipt printers are most used
by the front-of-house because they can
print faster and quieter than the
traditional impact printers. Furthermore,
all receipt printers are thermal printers
which means that ink is no longer FIGURE 2: RECEIPT PRINTER
needed. Hence, the cost for the inks can
be deducted from the monthly total cost which benefits all the business owners. Moreover, it
can provide a better experience for the customers as it can print the receipt a lot faster which
reduces the time needed for the customers to wait. The thermal printer functions by heating
the paper to create characters and images on thermally sensitive paper. The image produced
by this printer is clearer and long-lasting which are more resistant to climate, oil, UV rays and
others. In addition, the maintenance cost is cheaper as there are less complicated parts in it.

1.2. Cash Drawer

FIGURE 3: CASH DRAWER

According to Toast, (2021) Cash drawer is a method widely used in all restaurants around the
world. It still stands strong and remains important to storing and managing cash nowadays.
Furthermore, it is a more modern approach to managing your restaurant’s cash drawer so all
transactions can be recorded to avoid human errors from happening and increase
accountability. It plugs into your receipt printer and waits for the printer to tell it to open. The
printer waits for your point-of-sale application to tell it to print a receipt and that yes, this
transaction is cash, so need to open the drawer. Moreover, the cash in the cash drawer should
be removed and locked overnight for added security and safety. This is hardware that
available in mostly all business for transaction purposes as cash and coins. The cash drawer is
connected to our point-of-sale system and will automatically open when a transaction is
made. In addition, our cashier can keep all the money every day in this cash drawer safely.

1.3. Kitchen Display Screens

FIGURE 4: KITCHEN DISPLAY SCREENS

According to Toast (2021), the

restaurant kitchen can be a hectic place to print tickets. Kitchen display screens are
commonly used together with kitchen display systems to keep things moving efficiently in
the kitchen by many restaurants. Furthermore, it is widely used by all restaurants due to
several reasons besides helping the kitchen sections. For example, it helps to reduce human
errors, streamlines communication between both front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house
(BOH), monitors the cooking time for each dish and others. Kitchen display screens are more
environmentally friendly compared to traditional ticket printers. It also helps to save
restaurants on the small added cost of ticket paper and remove all common problems of paper
tickets in the past. Kitchen staff can view all open orders on the screen by using the advanced
kitchen display system. This can help to eliminate missing orders and increase the speed to
deliver food to value customers. Moreover, orders can be fulfilled accurately on time by the
kitchen to provide memorable experiences to the customers. This display screen can be used
in our restaurant’s kitchen to increase the productivity of our staff as well as to reduce the
mistakes made.

1.4. Self-Order Kiosks

According to Toast (2021), Self-order

kiosks are a growing trend and are
becoming a major facet of quick-service
and fast-casual restaurants. It is connected
to counter computer and the staff can see
when our orders. It can pay by ourselves or
pay at the counter this hardware got receipt
after orders. Self-order kiosks are becoming
popular for several reasons. They provide FIGURE 5: SELF-ORDER KIOSKS

more control over the ordering process to the customers and make it easier for them to review
the menu as well as customize their orders. It can help restaurants to increase average check
size and order volume and shorten lines to avoid staffing and productivity constraints.
Moreover, self-order kiosks can help the restaurants to reduce the number of employees and
decrease the cost needed.

1.5. Air robot

FIGURE 6: ROBOT

According to Husna, H (2020) Nowadays, many industries are using digital to improve their
productivity and to increase profits. Our restaurant decided to follow the trend and involved
robots in our business. An electronic shelf on wheels with a cute smiling face will deliver
customers’ food to their table. Moreover, the robot can be used to enforce social distance and
be ready to face manpower shortages. Furthermore, the robot waitress is an innovative
functional robot that can act as an interactive assistant in all service sections. Robot
waitresses can handle reception duties, deliver food and beverages, create an entertaining
shopping experience and consultative and informative explanations are provided. The
technology called simultaneous localisation and mapping, known more popularly as SLAM
enabled the robot waiter to return to the table where it had taken orders. The robot was
programmed to stop itself automatically when encountered with moving objects to avoid
spilling. In addition, several customers visit the restaurants to experience being served by the
robots as it is something new to the public. Hence, the robot waiters had become the
gimmicks to the business to earn higher profits and to stand out from the competitors. In
addition, the use of this AI robot in our restaurant can help to reduce our costs and to serve
customers in a better way.

2. Software
2.1. Grab

According to, Demi, Y (2020) Grab has partnered with over 3,000 stores in the
region including leading supermarkets and convenience store chains like Enterprise,
FamilyMart, 7 Eleven, etc. The software can be synced across multiple types of devices,
so we have installed it on a business-only iPad to order groceries when needed. The
software prioritises ordering from the nearest grocery shops to save time which is why
we entrust Grab, as they always have the groceries delivered within an hour or at a
scheduled time. Thus, we no longer have to stress about making a last-minute run to the
grocery stores. The software also provides accurate item suggestions based on the purchase
history, which makes things easier if we want to add on other items. Furthermore, Grab
accepts payment via e-wallets, which is convenient as we also prefer contactless delivery in
this pandemic.

FIGURE 7: GRAB MART

2.2. Toast POS

According to Jayelynn (2019), Toast POS functions to streamline inventory management and
restaurant operations. Customers’ orders
are taken using Toast POS Android-
based tablet computers, eliminating the

Infinite Loop Page 13 of

Report on Healthy Fast-Food Restaurant

need to make runs in between the kitchen, terminals and tables. The system can also monitor
stocks, add or remove
menu items, highlight
best-selling menu items,
and much more. With
that, customers
can track tabs and look up
recipes and the
ingredients we use, this
plays a major role in
helping to improve the overall client experience. The software also provides us with the
ability to swipe cards and store credit card information; which is a huge benefit for robot
restaurants as we run contactless businesses. Customers can also use the interface to sign
receipts, pay, and hand out tips.

2.3. Bitdefender

Infinite Loop Page 14 of

Report on Healthy Fast-Food Restaurant

According to, Sam, B (2021) Bitdefender is one of the best antiviruses on the market in
2021. It provides advanced malware protection and a ton of additional internet security
protections, all inside an intuitive user interface. Thus, our restaurant will be
using Bitdefender to ensure that our software application will not get attacked by viruses
and hackers. Since our restaurant fully depends on artificial intelligence, we must make sure
our system is uncheckable, which is why we chose the well-known Bitdefender. Bitdefender
has established its name by top-class performance and advanced features like system
scanning, web protection, anti-theft, webcam and microphone protection etc... With all of
that, Bitdefender is still surprisingly affordable. Not only the software is very easy to use, but
it also provides 24 hours of support for businesses that have subscribed to its paid corporate
package.

FIGURE 9: BITDEFENDER SOFTWARE

2.4. Mint.com

According to, Larry, L

(2021) Mint.com is
financial software that
helps to plan budgets and

Infinite Loop Page 15 of

Report on Healthy Fast-Food Restaurant

reduce expenses with accurate, automatic calculations. It can track all the financial operations
via banking accounts and can be set up to receive bill reminders. The software not only does
the budgeting, creating goals, and aggregating all your financial accounts in one place, it also
reminds you of upcoming bills and can automatically pay them for you if necessary. What we
love about Mint.com is that the software’s dashboard gives a quick summary of your personal
finances. Thus, the restaurant’s financial information is presented in a slick, easy-to-use web
interface, with pretty graphs and all. It also updates the financial data automatically, which
saves us a lot of time and hassle.

3. Communications capabilities over networks

3.1. Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity)

What is WI-FI?

A wireless or Wi-Fi network connects your

devices - such as computers, printers, and
cellphones - to the Internet and to each
other using a radio frequency signal rather
than cables. Within a specific range, any
wireless-capable device, such as a laptop or
tablet, may pick up the Wi-Fi signal in all

Infinite Loop Page 16 of

Report on Healthy Fast-Food Restaurant

directions. It delivers data wirelessly for 300-500 feet from the access point at up to 54 Mbps.
A Wi-Fi access point is a device that delivers and receives data over a wireless network.

Utilization

Wi-Fi encourages customers to stay longer in your restaurant or cafe, resulting in larger ticket
sizes from individuals recharging on coffee and food over the day. Customers may tell a lot
about themselves when they go online, according to Elkins, M (2018). You may learn about
their social behaviours to enhance relationships, pick successful advertising platforms, and
customize marketing messaging. Simply inform your consumers that the network gathers
cookies to present appropriate advertisements. Customers may leave reviews and upload
photos right away. Therefore, Wi-Fi boosts client’s happiness and keeps them entertained
while they wait.

3.2. Modem

What is a modem?

According to Cunningham, A (2021) a modem modulates and demodulates electrical signals

sent over phone lines, coaxial cables, or other types of wiring; in other words, it converts
digital data from your computer into analogue signals that can be transmitted over wires, and
it can also translate incoming analogue signals back into digital data that your computer
understands.

Infinite Loop Page 17 of

Report on Healthy Fast-Food Restaurant

Utilizations

Because our business relies on technology,

we will need a high-quality internet
connection to operate all our gadgets,
therefore we will need a DSL modem. A DSL
modem is a modem that enables uses a
Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) connection to
access the Internet. DSL is quicker than dial-
up service, though. The usual DSL speed in
the actual world is 6 Mbps. This gives a
sufficient speed and bandwidth for the
majority of the users, including watching FIGURE 11: DSL MODEM

high-definition streaming (HSI Staff 2015).

3.3. Router

A router is a network switching device

that may route network packets to other
networks or devices depending on their
addresses. They're utilized for a variety
of purposes, including Internet access,
network coupling, and VPN
connections between branch offices
and a central office (Virtual Private
FIGURE 12: ROUTER
Network). They interact via various
access protocols, such as Ethernet, ATM, or DSL, depending on the kind. The switching of
data packets through the router in the OSI layer model is dependent on the network layer

Infinite Loop Page 18 of

Report on Healthy Fast-Food Restaurant

address (layer 3). Multi-protocol routers, in addition to routers that utilize the Internet
protocol (IP), may accept a variety of additional network protocols (NFON 2021).

Utilizations

Routers are a typical tool for contemporary network computing since they link employees to
networks, both local and global, where almost every critical business activity occurs. Without
routers, we would not be able to cooperate, communicate, acquire information, or learn on the
Internet. Routers can also serve as security devices. Embedded firewall and content filtering
software add further security against undesirable content and dangerous websites without
interfering with your online experience. A router, on the other hand, isn't simply for data
transfer or Internet connections. Most routers let you attach hard drives and use them as file-
sharing servers or printers that anyone on the network may use (Cisco).

4. Problem and solution

4.1. To ensure the safety of customers

We would be installing Arlo Pro 4 CCTV cameras cover around the restaurant so we can
always be ready to face any upcoming problems and accidents. The reason we choose Arlo
Pro 4 instead of others to brand it is that Arlo Pro 4 have the best overall reviews because it
does not need a power cord and still manages to outperform the competition. Back to the
solution to ensure customers safeness, we will ensure employees are staying up 24 hours
watching through the CCTV from the headquarters to provide bits of help and act before
accidents. Time CCTV Is using solar energy to run. The CCTV also having the anti-hacker
app with the bit defender

Infinite Loop Page 19 of

Report on Healthy Fast-Food Restaurant

FIGURE 13: ARLO PRO 4 CCTV

4.2. How we protect the robot itself

For the solution, we are using thermoplastic to cover around

the ai robots to avoid direct contact with liquids.
Thermoplastic on average can provide us with 50 years or
more waterproofing more effective for the intended
purpose. Also, you will see D-Link DCH-S161 Water Leak
Detector in our restaurant just to prevent the unnoticeable
water leak.

Infinite Loop Page 20 of

Report on Healthy Fast-Food Restaurant

4.3. The solution against the hacker in the future

we are ready a long-distance control manually software that allowed us to control it manually
or shut it down just through the monitor. All of our Ai robots are using wireless Wi-Fi to
operate their duty. By that time, we will be sending our engineer to check the software and
hardware each of the months to ensure the restaurant can run smoothly.

how can we ensure that our application software will not get attack by viruses and hackers?
We will be using Bitdefender; Bitdefender is a well-known name in the anti-malware
industry. It has established its name by top-class performance and advanced features. It is
very easy to use and provides 24 hours of support for businesses that subscribe to its paid
corporate package. Cover up to all our information technology environment.

4.4. Energy Resource Problem

we decide to use solar energy to settle down our power issue Solar energy has been proven to
be the most efficient and effective among renewable energy sources for home and
commercial use. Solar energy is generated by harnessing the rays of the sun. Generating
solar energy does not cause
pollution and is efficient for
both residential and
commercial use.
Maintaining s olar panels is
easy, and most panels

Infinite Loop Page 21 of

Report on Healthy Fast-Food Restaurant

come with warranties for up to 25 years. The disadvantage of solar energy is that it can be
generated effectively only in places that get large amounts of sunshine. If the residence or
commercial establishment is in a location that is arid and gets an abundance of sunlight a
company like Energy Concepts will install panels to help continuous and efficient solar
power generation. Supplying the whole restaurant requirement resources including the
headquarters.

FIGURE 14: ENERGY RESOURCE PROBLEM

5. Summary

Considering what has been presented in our article healthy fast-food restaurants are new
innovative restaurants introduced to meet the needs of the new generation that aim to live a
healthy sustainable life. Our restaurant is making an advancement in the services with the use
of Receipt Printer, Self-Order Kiosks, Kitchen Display Screens, Cash Drawer and AI

Infinite Loop Page 22 of

technology. And we also launch a different kind of software to benefit our staff and customer
which are Grab, toast POS, Bitdefender and Mint.com. We believe the pleasant dining
experience will win a lot of diners' hearts. It brings benefits to restaurant guests by providing
easy and comfortable food ordering and payment experiences. It also brings benefits to
restaurant managers by saving money and time, thereby making enhanced profits for the
business. Therefore, we will try to continue improving our new technologies so that they can
be used in all food and beverages industries. Last but not least, our company will keep
improving the experience of the customers and also get in touch with them to provide the best
services, thus gain the popularity among the public.
