    1. Find all the roots of 𝑥 3 − 3𝑥 + 1 = 0, giving your answers correct to 2 decimal places. [5]

    2. Sketch 𝑦 = 2𝑥 and 𝑦 = 𝑥 + 2 on the same axes.


    Use your sketch to deduce the number of roots of the equation 2𝑥 = 𝑥 + 2. [3]
    Find each root, correct to 3 decimal places. [3]

    3. Using iteration process, show that 𝑥 3 + 2𝑥 = 7 has a solution that lies between 1 and 2.
